FANTASTIC VICTORY FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, PROGRESSIVES, AND BARACK OBAMA!

America can celebrate June 28, 2012 as one of the greatest days in the history of American reform, joining with the victories for Social Security under Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1935, and Medicare under Lyndon B. Johnson in 1965!

Barack Obama will go down as easily the greatest President, at least in domestic affairs, since LBJ!

America is finally coming into the 21st century on health care, and the decision of the Supreme Court is the most important decision of the Court in the past decade, and will reverberate throughout American history, and insure the victory of Barack Obama to a second term as President in November!

Social justice and humanity won out in this decision, and it advances American values of fairness, equity, and decency, and becomes institutionalized as part of the “American Dream”, which can be restored by a sound defeat of the Republicans and Tea Party right wing radicals in Congress this November!

But even if the opposition triumphs through their spending of inordinate amounts of money, and trying to suppress the vote, and wins control of both houses of Congress, Barack Obama will be there to stop their negativism and retreat with his veto!

So this is a day to celebrate, the most important day of this year, except for the Presidential Election Day on November 6!

I think more of a concern is how far right Anthony Kennedy will be driven by the decision. Apparently, according to the news media, his dissent was quite strongly worded. Not in the sense of Scalia’s rants but strong. Kennedy seems to be moving slowly to the right and this may be the final push to start delivering 5-4 verdicts along the strict conservative line. It may turn out to be a hollow victory.

That is true, Fred, but Roberts seems determined to have a
good legacy and may be more reliable from now on, as with the immigration case earlier this week!

    Hello Professor!!
Well I had to boot up as soon as I got home from work and stop to say, “Hooray for the Working Middle Class Today!” We have not won many here of late but we won this one TODAY!!

What was upheld today was what the Republican’s proposed when they were railing against “Hillary Clinton Health Care in the 1990’s!! I guess you could say that it came back and bit the Extreme Right Wing in the Ass!! All I have to say to Speaker Boehner is, “Go ahead and try to repeal it. That’s what you SAID you were going to do following the 2010 election, why haven’t you done so to this point?” Before I left to take a new engineering position in Columbus Ohio, I had lunch with a very good friend who is also a Conservative Republican….but not the Extreme Nut Job Teabagger type. The conversation came around to the Affordable Health Care Bill and I told him that it was going to be upheld and the Republicans would never repeal it. It Is Here To Stay!!

I feel that this will go down in history at the same level as FDR’s Social Security Bill did in the 1930’s. It is that much of a land mark!!

I would add to Fred’s comment that President Obama needs to be reelected as there will be about two more Supreme Court appointment that will be coming up and they need to be the more clear thinking.

Now Lets Head Toward The November Election With This One Under Our Belt and Take This Country Back From The Corporate Stooge Romney and the Rest of the BOUGHT AND SOLD Republicans!!

    VIVA THE WORKING MIDDLE CLASS!!!

    Hello Professor!!

I should restate FDR’s “Social Security Act,” LBJ’s “Civil Rights Act,” and President Obama’s “Affordable Health Care.”

We have seen History Up Held and Justified.

    Hi Ron!
The first place I came to was you after I heard the news around 10:30. After reading lots of RW s posts ( shoildn’t have done it) all over the place I had to come back again to read you and allow my BP to come down. My feeling is that though this is a day to celebrate and sit in wonder of what in the hell got into Roberts, it ‘s also worrisome. Has Robert’s ginned up some MAJOR Obama hate with his decision? If what I read on the Internet RWers are so out of their minds some are screaming 2nd Amend remedies. I intend to stay away from the blogs…,I know lots of emotions being fueled by republican leaders. damn I should know better than read that horse excretimemt!
The absolute most important effort to be made by us Progressives is Education! People simply don’t know what’s in the bill. It contains so many good things that I think most Americans would agree with but they just know what their irrational republican leaders have told them in lies for 3 years! Maybe you and I can collaborate and create an easy to read and understand (because many RWers need easy) Points on what is in the bill and how it will affect health care on an individual basis. Then we dissiminate it all over the web and get your Fans to do the same.So much misinformation out there and unfortunately Obama and the Dems have not done well in educating the American public. I read one blog post today where a lady is totally convinced her Medicare benefits are now going to decrease AND that she will be jailed for not buying a Medicare Supplement. A really great guy on the blog told her she was right and she should be very worried!

Hope you write again this evening😊. Sorry for typos…am sending this from my iPhone and the keyboard is too small!
