President Barack Obama did what he had to do this evening: turn around the dynamic of the Presidential race!
Obama was strong, assertive, confident, full of facts and details, and showed how genuine and sincere a person he is, and how much he cares for the American people! He won the debate on style and substance!
Mitt Romney acted nasty and mean; tried to dominate and control the debate, instead of Candy Crowley, the moderator; lied about many of the points that he made; and demonstrated lack of commitment to what he had said during the primaries. As usual, he was not sincere and genuine, and seems to lack the ability to be so!
For those who were worried about Obama, the confidence is back, and the willingness to work for the next three weeks to bring Obama back to complete his great first term and accomplish great works in his second term is moving full steam ahead!
More commentary on this debate will follow as the author has time to analyze what has happened in greater detail.
Romney came out of the gate as the bully. He eas rude to the moderator. disrespectful of the President, the moderator and to the audience including those at home. By his combative and refused to stop and just went on and on taking up valuable time….that was so disrespectful to the Americanpeople!!!!
Hey professor was a student of yours at browed college for both your history courses a few years ago. My first time commenting on your blog. Anyway I would just like to say I fully agree with you. I think it’s sad that already Romney supporters are crying a river because their boy didn’t get a fair shot. The President didn’t give him a chance to respond to that shot about the 47 percent. I find it especially sad because the only time the president has brought that up in a debate so far is when Romney opened himself up to it. They are just mad because they can’t truly delude themselves into thinking Romney actually took this one.
I also fully agree with the Professor. Much, much better debate performance by Obama this time.
Glad to see that Obama had some fire in the belly this time!
Check Todd on MSNBC is saying there’s a possibility of a tie with electoral votes.
I found a pretty funny video online involving Romney and Obama thought I would share lol
I wrote about the scenario of a 269-269 electoral vote tie on May 4, 2012.
Thanks, Ali, for the wonderful and hilarious video! 🙂
So, if it’s a tie, and Congress has to decide, could that result in the President and Vice President being from different political parties?
Actually, the 12th Amendment prevents that, so not sure what would happen. It requires the President and Vice President to be on the same ticket, after the dispute over Jefferson being VP under John Adams, who had been his opponent in 1796.
It could be some mess, a constitutional crisis.
But since the Vice President presides over the Senate, and that would be Joe Biden until January 20, it also complicates things if the Republicans win the Senate–just not certain what would happen.
Let’s just pray it does not occur!
