The Huffington Post Projection On The Election Today: Obama 277, Romney 191, And Five States In Play!

According to the Huffington Post, this evening (October 25), the Electoral College total is Barack Obama 277, and Mitt Romney 191, with five states and 70 electoral votes in play!

According to the Huffington Post estimates, Obama is winning the “swing” states of the Midwest (Ohio, Iowa, Wisconsin), along with Nevada.

The five states in play are the Southern states (Virginia, North Carolina, Florida), and also New Hampshire and Colorado.

But even if Romney wins all five states, with 70 electoral votes, he would only have 261, nine short of the number needed to win, with Obama having seven more than the number needed, 270.

It seems a good judgment that the Midwest is lost to Mitt Romney, based on early voting, and Romney’s refusal to back the auto industry survival ultimately will cost him the election, despite the overwhelming list of mistakes and blunders made by the Republican nominee for President.

There will be plenty of time after November 6 to analyze why Mitt Romney is another Presidential “loser”!

The more I look at the electoral collage the more it seems to me we have nothing to worry about. But then it wouldn’t be the first time something went wrong when it shouldn’t have. I think we would consider Mitt Romney a two time Presidential looser after the 6th seeing as how he failed to even get his party’s nomination in 08. Or are you only a presidential looser if you get to the actual election and loose it?

    Have a question for you it’s kind of random and unrelated to this particular topic. But what do you think of games like this one;

Which make use of a particular period of history as a basis for their game. I personally tend to think that if it is accurate history besides the obvious addition it is actually pretty cool might get some younger people into history.

I do not like games that promote violence, but maybe I am showing my age LOL

A Presidential loser is defined as one who loses an actual election, not a nomination.

I think Obama is safe electorally for sure, but I would be very unhappy if he lost the national popular vote, as some would say he is illegitimate, although it has happened four times previously, including Bush in 2000.

I personally don’t play many games anymore not really because of the violence factor but because I refuse to pay 60 bucks for one game that will last maybe a few weeks when there are other things I want to spend my money on which bring me more enjoyment. I just find it funny how lately it seems they are making more and more games with a historical setting as part of the plot. Was just wondering what you thought of the concept of the game since I am pretty sure you spend your time more wisely then on a PlayStation LOL

Thanks for the clarification! I would be similarly upset if he lost the popular vote but as long as he remains in office for the next 4 years where he belongs it is not that big a loss. I mean yes it would be wrong for them to be claiming that he is not legitimate but they already do as you pointed out in a previous post I believe. He doesn’t let what people say stop him from trying to help them which I greatly respect.

I was talking to one of my British friends last night and the topic of the election came up and he expressed how in their country right now they are having a similar issue with a great many people backing a complete idiot over their current leader. I believe the prime minster is David Cameron at the moment who my friend says is almost sure to be kicked out of power when their next election comes along. It seems to me that stupidity is spreading fast across the world like a plague. Actually we half joked and were half serious about moving to Australia if Romney and the challenger in England win. LOL

Actually, if you investigate Australian politics, it is not much better LOL

I do think that the world is in crisis, and that mankind has not advanced very much, and too much reminds me of the 1930s before World War II, with the rise of Fascism during the Great Depression, which affected the whole world. I hope Obama will be seen as FDR in the long run of history, because I sense his destiny as a great President, when we look back in the future.

Oh no! Now we will be forced to go and live in Antartica. I am not sure I can handle those penguins hogging all the fish!! LOL

I don’t know that he will ever be seen as an FDR type president but I do believe he will certainly rank up there with people like Truman and Johnson to some extent. I think the simple fact is that no one can really measure up to FDR in the sheer amount of accomplishments he made in his 12 years or so in office. He had disaster after disaster and crisis after crisis and he lead us through them all. Obama has certainly done a very excellent job but I think he would need a crisis of a significant level for him to be seen as FDR is. After all in my opinion the best Presidents are shaped not by the disasters or crisis that occur in their presidencies but on how they respond to them.

You are correct, but if in office eight years, and with the crises the worst since the Great Depression, I think Obama can rank, certainly in the top ten, but not up where FDR is, with Lincoln and Washington!
