9 Of 10 Most Common Occupations Are Paid Wages That Are Disgraceful!

We are in the midst of a middle class meltdown, which has been going on since 1973, when the middle class reached its peak!

For 24 of those 40 years, we had Republicans in the White House, working to undermine the ability of the middle class to make a liveable wage, and meanwhile, the elite kept on gaining tax cuts under Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush, making America the most stratified nation in the developed world!

It is unacceptable when nine of ten most common occupations give workers a wage that is unlivable, and often with no or meager benefits as well!

The following occupations pay their workers, on the average, less than $30,000 per year:

Retail salesperson
Cashier
Food Prep Worker
Office Clerk
Waiter
Laborer
Janitor/Cleaner

The following pay under $35,000 a year:

Customer Service Representative
Secretary/Administrative Assistant

Only Nurses ($68,000) make a real living wage of the top ten occupations.

This is a tragedy of massive proportions for the long term future!

Mean while your progessive president cannot seem to put forth a balanced buget, running up more debt than any other president that the yet to be born will be saddled with. His fed is printing funny money making your earned dollar worth much less as world economies shift away from it as the standard. Seems that the community organizer is out of his league.

Why is it, Dave, that when Bush and Reagan spent us into oblivion, creating most of the debt since 1981, that you and others did not scream and yell (7 trillion out of 9 trillion from 1981 to 2009)? Only when Obama comes in to clean up the mess, like FDR after Hoover, do you suddenly act holier than thou! Much of the debt since 2009 is interest on earlier debts, and continuation of the Bush wars, and no one can resolve debts cold turkey, by cutting government dramatically, as that would have led to a far worse situation. Austerity does NOT work, and never has, only makes things worse!

Due to state and federal budget cuts, one of my local PBS stations is cutting transmissions to a couple of communities. For the communities losing PBS, it will happen sometime before June 30. 🙁

That is tragic, Princess Leia, as PBS has done so much good in educating children and the general community. And the gall of Mitt Romney to wish to decimate PBS, when is has done so much for so many and is an extremely minor expense, about $1.50 per person per year in America. It shows the lack of insight and concern about what really matters in America!

What North Carolina is doing is unconstitutional, reactionary, hateful, and extremist. But remember that North Carolina now has a GOP governor and legislature, a major step backward in a state that was thought to be advancing into the 20th century while we are in the 21st century. It was “purple” but now, despite its “Research Triangle”, it is becoming an embarrassment, more like Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama, going backwards rather than forward, and adding to the bad image of the Republican Party, which has abandoned its proud past in recent years!

Printing funny money is doing the real harm to these people wages. You can take all the money from the rich if you like it will not prop up the the obama mess. A community organizer is proving to be an inferior President.

Dave, you will find out in the future that Obama will be rated as in the top third of all Presidents–14 out of 43, while your Republican friends, the two Bushes, Nixon, and Ford, will be rated much lower. And once the truth of the destructiveness of Reagan becomes evident over time, he will slip from his perch, maybe barely making the top 14!

obama, never had a real job, never created a job, drove our country into impossible debt, side steps the constitution that he has sworn to uphold through his progressive proxies in energy, EPA, Justice, etc. Created the train wreck of obama care, the most divisive president since Lincoln, he cannot work with opposition of any kind, yeah what a guy. If it were not for main stream medias sickening love affair with this guy there would have been no way he could have been elected or reelected .

Dave, you live in delusion. History will record Obama as far better than any President since Lyndon B. Johnson in domestic affairs and much better than Bush II in foreign affairs! And realize MOST politicians have NEVER worked in the private sector or created jobs! Did Reagan–did Nixon–did Ford–and Bush II only had a business because his daddy helped him buy it! And that is true with 95 percent of Congress both parties! So what you say is totally out of line and ridiculous!

Will obama be remembered as a great president? If it were up to the media who refused to vet this poor candidate with no experience of any kind the answer will be yes. One could witness the platitudes and sobbing by them at the first inauguration, I was wondering how many days it would be before the ground breaking for his impressive monument .
With enough progressive brain washing at our public schools and universities he will easily be seen to be on par with our greatest. The delusion is not mine.
