The Mystery Of 2016: Why Hillary Clinton Has Low Public Opinion Rating, And Bill Clinton Continues To Rate High In Public Opinion!

As the Democratic National Convention begins in Philadelphia, there is much turmoil and rancor over the revelation of Democratic National Committee emails, apparently hacked by Russian state supporters, to harm Hillary Clinton by her connection to now disgraced Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

There is no debate that Debbie has run the DNC poorly, and shown bias toward Bernie Sanders, and it is right that she is not participating in the activities of the convention. She also faces a fight in the primary against a Bernie Sanders supported candidate in the Florida primary on August 30.

Despite that, I have met Debbie a few times, and always thought she was a decent, kind, and competent person, but her handling of the Democratic National Committee activities have besmirched her reputation permanently in history, a tragic development.

But beyond this controversy, the mystery continues to arise. Why does Hillary Clinton have such low public opinion rating, while her husband, former President Bill Clinton, continues to rate high in public opinion, and always has?

Hillary Clinton is one of the most qualified nominees for President in all of American history, but she is not a good politician, in the sense that she has trouble arousing supporters, and is not, as she even admits, the expert communicator that her husband, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama, are.

Clinton has made mistakes, certainly, but so have all Presidential nominees and all Presidents. But much of the attack on Hillary Clinton is manufactured by right wing conservative forces and Republican nominee Donald Trump.

And she is blamed for her husband’s misbehavior, but somehow, that does not affect the popularity of her husband, so this is inscrutable!

There, clearly, is a anti woman mentality among many men, and even a large percentage of women, both of whom seem to feel that a woman is not qualified to be President.

However, the belief is that once Bill Clinton speaks at the convention on Wednesday that he will be able to boost the candidacy of his wife, and that once he goes on the campaign trail in the next months, that he will help to elect his wife to the Presidency.

I think a lot of it has to do with the Republican smears over the years.

On the Left, there’s a subset of so-called progressives, known as emoprogs. They constantly whine about Democrats. They’ve been calling her “$Hillary” and “corporate whore”. In my opinion, they sound no better than Trump.

D, I respect you greatly, but these videos are not turning me against Hillary Clinton.

Bernie would never have been able to win, and realize the Republicans and Trump were soft on him, because they knew he would lose.

Had he been the nominee, they would have destroyed him even more than their attempt to destroy Hillary.

And Hillary will win this November, I assure you!

    Ronald,

I don’t want to turn you against voting for Hillary.

People should, of course, handle their voting as each person will.

I just wanted to present them here so that there is some additional insight concerning where we may be heading.

D, may I ask if you plan to vote for Hillary Clinton, or who else? Jill Stein?

As the progressive blog, BPI Campus points out, a minority of these Sanders supporters are far left protestors who want to destroy both parties.

They also point out that a new Pew Poll found that 90% of Sanders supporters will vote for Hillary Clinton.

    Ronald,

I will vote for Hillary Clinton.

And, from my previous response, I want to let you know that I greatly respect you as well. (I figure you know this.) I certainly respect all people who post here. (I have let some trolls, who have surfaced here from time to time, not affect me. So, I have been enjoying posting here.)

Again…a lot of what I contribute is to hopefully bring additional insight to a topic. When I look at what goes on in U.S. politics, I note that even when I don’t like what’s happening…my personal feelings cannot stop such negative developments. It is good knowing, as I’m sure it is also the case with everyone who comes here, that politics isn’t my sole interest in life.

I will be taking a little break from here. It may be at least a couple weeks. It may be closer to a month. (My birthday is August 16. I will try to not make that day one in which I give much or any attention to U.S. politics.)

Per BPI Campus regarding the emails:

Worth noting: so far there’s no evidence that Wasserman Schultz, Marshall, or any DNC staffer did anything to advance Clinton or block Sanders. There’s evidence that some of them favored Clinton and offered ideas to undermine Sanders … but so far no evidence that anyone at the DNC acted on that favoritism or those ideas.

The fact that Russians are meddling in our election is what is frightening to me.

  10. Rustbelt Democrat July 26, 2016 12:55 pm

Email drama aside, I thought that opening night of the convention was really good and the message of love and hope drew a strong contrast compared to the message of fear and hate being pushed last week.

D, I greatly respect and admire you too, as you are well aware.

I appreciate your explanation, and I agree, and I want you to know that I will miss you for the next month or so, as will our other contributors. I hope your health is alright and I wish you a happy birthday in August! 🙂

You have impressed me greatly with your detailed posts from time to time!

Princess Leia, I believe that you are correct in what you say.

I agree with you, Pragmatic Progressive, on the danger of the Russian connection of Trump, and think that will cause many Republicans and conservatives to refuse to vote for him.

And Rustbelt Democrat, I feel the Democrats look so much better at their convention than the Republicans, and I think Hillary will get a major bump early next week in the polls as a result!

  13. Former Republican July 26, 2016 1:35 pm

I hear Trump is complaining because ISIS wasn’t mentioned.

  14. Rational Lefty July 26, 2016 5:12 pm

The one thing that Bernie did that no one else did last night that I can recall (I admit to only seeing the prime time), is he called out for people to support electing Democrats to the Congress. Not only did he support Hillary Clinton, he supported the Democratic platform. This convention isn’t just about electing Hillary, its about equipping her with the tools she needs to accomplish these things.

  15. Ronald July 26, 2016 5:14 pm

    I agree totally, Rational Lefty!

  16. Southern Liberal July 26, 2016 9:57 pm

I’ve seen some delegates wearing Robin Hood type hats. Those are some of Bernie’s supporters.

Trump is invoking Russia into carrying out a cyber attack

  18. Princess Leia July 27, 2016 4:40 pm

Trump needs to be charged with treason and disqualified immediately!

Looks like Trump’s running mate is really Putin instead of Pence.
