Nancy Pelosi, The Most Powerful Woman In American History; And Ann Coulter, A Domestic Terrorist Who Should Face Charges Of Promoting Insurrection Against The Welfare Of The American People

Two women stood out this week, one displaying her true greatness, and the other demonstrating that she is a disgrace who wishes ill for the American people.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi stood up to President Donald Trump, and refused to bend on the Border Wall, and Trump has now caved in totally, not only on the criminal shutdown of the federal government, but also on delaying the State of the Union address.

She has proved to be, easily, the most powerful woman in American history by far, and the best Speaker since Thomas “Tip” O’Neill (1977-1987), and makes former Republican Speaker Paul Ryan look pitiful by comparison, having no guts or courage to stand up to Donald Trump.

When one thinks of other women who have played a major public role in American history, we can think of Hillary Clinton, who would have been the most powerful and influential woman in American history, had she not been robbed by Russian collusion of winning the Electoral College.

We can refer to several woman US Senators with longevity—such as Margaret Chase Smith, Barbara Mikulski, Diane Feinstein–and several Congresswomen, including Jeannette Rankin, Marcy Kaptur, Patricia Schroeder, and Nita Lowey—and Supreme Court Justices such as Sandra Day O’Connor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

But none have had the impact and significance that Nancy Pelosi has had in 33 years of service, and with a successful four year term as Speaker from 2007-2011.

At the same time, Ann Coulter has proved once again that she is a dangerous radical, out to undermine American government, through sowing hate and division, and proving she has no empathy for anyone except the extremely wealthy and powerful right wing forces in America.

She should have a complete collapse in her book sales, and should be ignored by the news media and cable tv shows, as she is effectively a domestic terrorist sowing insurrection, and she should be facing charges and spending years in prison for her anti American actions that are equivalent of treason.

For sure, when the history of recent times is written, Nancy Pelosi will stand out in a positive fashion, while Ann Coulter will be condemned to the dust heap of history, of traitors to America and its advancement.

    Donald Trump.

    Nancy Pelosi.

Two videos by Jimmy Dore cover what each has have said about a single-payer system.

    The first is of Trump.

  2. D January 26, 2019 4:00 pm

    Second is Pelosi:

  3. Pragmatic Progressive January 26, 2019 6:12 pm

Pelosi brought Trump to his knees! 🙂

  4. Princess Leia January 26, 2019 6:23 pm

D – Trump doesn’t give an f—- about helping people get affordable healthcare. All he cares about is making him and his family richer.

Now, regarding Pelosi, the Professor sums it up perfectly! 🙂

  5. Former Republican January 26, 2019 7:17 pm

One of the reasons I don’t care for this Jimmy Dore guy being posted here is because I’ve discovered recently that he has pushed right-wing conspiracy theories (see: Seth Rich). Anyone parroting what right-wing nuts say, is not progressive.

  6. Princess Leia January 26, 2019 7:29 pm

Seconded, Former Republican. In addition to parroting the right-wing’s Seth Rich conspiracy, he also believed Hilary was going to drop nukes and that Trump wouldn’t be that bad. I can’t take anyone who thinks like that seriously.

  7. Rustbelt Democrat January 26, 2019 8:12 pm

Ah! You must have come across this then. Shows all the loony things he’s said. It’s why I also can’t take him seriously either. https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Jimmy_Dore

  8. Rational Lefty January 26, 2019 10:40 pm

Instead of listening to loonies, like Jimmy Dore, I suggest, as a better alternative to mainstream media, watching Newshour on PBS. Or reading something like ThinkProgress.

  9. Princess Leia January 26, 2019 10:49 pm

    Seconded, Rational Lefty.

  10. D January 27, 2019 6:27 am

    Princess Leia writes,

“D – Trump doesn’t give an f—- about helping people get affordable healthcare.”

    Yes, I agree.

I may have mentioned it here at “The Progressive Professor,” perhaps before the presidential election of 2016, that Donald Trump is about…Donald Trump.

The video’s topic, “Trump Admits Scotland And Australia Have Superior Healthcare to US,” shows a before-and-after Donald Trump.

What is particularly interesting is, prior to being the current and 45th U.S. president, Trump was already aware.

Some people need to know the following: Trump is…a politician.

  11. D January 27, 2019 6:34 am

Former Republican, Princess Leia, Rustbelt Democrat, and Rational Lefty,

While Princess Leia may have commented on the video on Donald Trump, did any of you watch the video on Nancy Pelosi, particularly for what she said about Medicare for All?

  12. Rational Lefty January 27, 2019 10:55 am

Trump is a con man and a pathological liar. He’s been that all his life. People that voted for him were gullible for believing him.

  13. Former Republican January 27, 2019 11:58 am

We have no desire to watch these any of these videos you post because we realize that their “both major political parties are basically the same” meme is moronic. These people are politically ignorant.

  14. Princess Leia January 27, 2019 12:07 pm

Precisely! That’s why they don’t have an audience outside YouTube.

  15. Southern Liberal January 27, 2019 12:15 pm

The fact is, 95% of all progressives are actually mainstream. Most are in the Democratic Party, and most are actually close to the middle. And if you think you can’t be both a “centrist” AND progressive, then you don’t know the meaning or either words.

  16. Pragmatic Progressive January 27, 2019 12:48 pm

Several of these YouTube pundits have Republican backgrounds and I get the impression they haven’t completely let go of that.

  17. Princess Leia January 27, 2019 2:39 pm

I get that impression as well.

  18. Pragmatic Progressive January 27, 2019 5:07 pm

Kamala Harris was having a campaign rally this afternoon. I’m very impressed by what she was saying.

  19. Princess Leia January 27, 2019 5:13 pm

I would love to see two women running together on the ticket! 🙂

  20. D January 27, 2019 8:22 pm

    Former Republican writes,

“We have no desire to watch these any of these videos you post because we realize that their ‘both major political parties are basically the same’ meme is moronic. These people are politically ignorant.”

In other words: You, Former Republican, are not interested in what Nancy Pelosi—the leader of the Democratic Party in the U.S. House and its speaker—said about Medicare for All?

  21. Former Republican January 27, 2019 8:32 pm

You got that backwards, D. We’re not interested in what ignorant things Jimmy Dore has to say about Nancy Pelosi.

  22. Former Republican January 28, 2019 8:14 am

Jimmy Dore, Cenk, Glenn Greenwald, and the rest of the pundits you listen to have the stupid notion that Democrats are the enemy.

Like Leia, Pragmatic, and Rustbelt, I’ve been a Democrat since the 1960s. Life has shown to us that it’s the Republicans who are the enemy, not the Democrats.

‘Pelosi Blatantly Lies About Med4All At Town Hall’
By “The Jimmy Dore Show” | Published to YouTube, January 10, 2019

JIMMY DORE: Everybody—welcome to “The Jimmy Dore Show”! I’m here with [Our Revolution’s] Mark Van Landuyt and The Miserable Liberal [Dore’s wife, Stef Zamorano]. So, Nancy Pelosi went on—she did a town hall with Joy Ann Reid on MSNBC. We showed you before, a young woman, a black woman got up and asked Nancy Pelosi if she supported Black Lives Matter. She [Pelosi] said “All Lives Matter.” And, now, Nancy Pelosi is going to be asked what she thinks about Medicare for All. Now, Nancy Pelosi launches into a word salad that is very heavy on the [b.s.] dressing. So, watch this! [Begins playing video]

CAROL SARDINA [Trinity Washington University Student]: [My question] for the speaker is, What approach will the Democrats, in the House, take to fixing the Affordable Care Act? (Thank you!)

NANCY PELOSI: Well, thank you so much for your question, and I think the reference should be “the Affordable Care Act.” It is—we are very proud of the Affordable Care Act. It was a generational opportunity to establish…

JIMMY DORE: We are very proud that there were no price controls. That it was a gift to Big Pharma and the big health insurance companies that left 30 million people uninsured. We are very proud to do the thing that Mitt Romney, and any other Republican, would have got done had they been elected. That’s what your proud of? That’s your achievement? A rightwing healthcare plan that leaves 30 million people out and no cost controls so people still go bankrupt whenever they get sick. That’s what your proud of. Okay.

NANCY PELOSI: …a pillar of economic and health security on par with Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid. The Affordable Care Act.

JIMMY DORE: No! Those are all socialist programs. Medicare. Medicaid. Social Security. Those are known as “socialism.” The Affordable Care Act is known as “corporatism.” That’s a “For Profit” healthcare solution. That, what does it do? It leaves out 30 million people, and costs us twice as much with worse outcomes than the rest of the world. So, the ACA is nothing like Social Security or Medicare. Nothing like that. And by the way: She [Pelosi] knows it. This is again: Your leader, who is opposing Trump, and we’re supposed to hate Trump because he lies and everything—and she’s lying. See, what she is doing is called “gaslighting.” And that’s a form of lying.

NANCY PELOSI: …a path to, uh, uh, insuring everyone; making sure that everyone has access to affordable, quality healthcare in our country. Uh, there are some challenges that we face, because certain things have expired, within the bill, and that have not been renewed by, uh, the [Trump] administration. Uh, very, very dangerous thing that the administration did. They couldn’t—they couldn’t—overturn the Affordable Care Act. You know why? The American people spoke—told their stories. 10,000 events around the country.

JIMMY DORE: Let me tell you something Nancy: You know what else the American people have said? 9 out of 10 Democrats say they want Medicare for All. The majority of Republicans said they want Medicare for All. The overwhelming majority of independents want Medicare for All. The country spoke. They want Medicare for All. You won’t touch it with a 10-foot poll. So, this idea that you’re celebrating the will of the people—you’re celebrating the will of your donors. Which is Big Pharma and the big insurance [companies]. That’s what she [Pelosi] is celebrating. If you really wanted to celebrate the “will” of the people, you would be screaming at the top of your lungs for Medicare for All. But, you’re not. In fact, you’re about to tell us why we can’t have it.

NANCY PELOSI: …Town hall meetings. Press conferences. Visits to offices and the rest. Little lobbyists. Little children. Physical challenges. Pre-existing conditions. People with pre-existing conditions. 123 thousand—123 million—families affected. So, they fought them. However, in their tax scam bill, that the Republicans passed, they took away the individual mandate. And that was very dangerous, in terms of the Affordable Care Act. So, we would have to replace that. A couple of things that I would do is to: Raise the, uh, uh, income level at which people can get subsidies, so more people would be able to get the subsidies. I think that is very, very important; uh, strengthen the laws, so that it is required—that states will have, uh, expand Medicaid. Very, very important. But, the virtue of it is, not just 20 million more people had access to healthcare, which would be a justification of itself, is that a 123 million more families almost would have access, even though they had a pre-existing condition, and that many more families have better benefits. So, the entire population benefited if they avail themselves of it, and that their states enabled them to avail themselves. But, certainly, with any bill that is passed of that magnitude, places that we know can improve; uh, but, uh, now…

JIMMY DORE: Who the hell can listen to this? Who can freakin’ listen to this?!

    STEF ZAMORANO: Jimmy—she [Pelosi] is…

JIMMY DORE: So, uh, well, you know—well, with all those—what we could do is, lower the cap—and that will—and, of course, the states would have to do the Medicaid expansion, which is very important, and the individual mandate—and that we have a kanottin valve, and we have another thing, and we have that. [Pauses] …MEDICARE FOR ALL. Everybody is covered. Nobody left out. And it save us money. Boom! And you don’t have to worry about all that [b.s.]. Nobody…can even keep their head up listening to this. This is her big plan! This is her big plan! I can’t imagine why it doesn’t rally people to the polls. This is her big solution for you. You can’t even sit through without your head falling off.

STEF ZAMORANO: Jimmy—She is a “master legislator”? I don’t know if you know that. I think it what it comes down to is—she just wears you down with word salads.

MARK VAN LANDUYT: The problem with the ACA: It was a market solution to a social crisis created by markets. And, the ACA, it’s great—you cannot be denied coverage; but, you can be denied treatment. And this great victory about pre-existing conditions: What are pre-existing conditions? It means you are sick. It means you are sick. The people that prevented from people from getting coverage are the people…were keeping extraordinary profits. So, this system protects the health insurance profiteers who add nothing—add nothing—to a person’s health care.

    [PART #02]

JIMMY DORE: …Let’s listen to some more of this. I know this is painful. You know—she [Pelosi] has only been talking for 20 seconds. It seems longer, right? It literally goes on for two more minutes. So, I know it’s going to seem like 20 [minutes].

NANCY PELOSI: …some of what reassurance that Republicans would not, would not, um, renew some things that we—

JIMMY DORE: Now, if this was Bernie Sanders, and he was asked this: Well, we do Medicare for All. We get everybody covered for less money. And the place would come to its feet. And the people would be cheering. Do you see the difference? Do you see why Hillary Clinton lost to Donald Trump? Do see why half the country doesn’t vote? Do you see? And you know why she [Pelosi] sounds like? She doesn’t sound like that because she’s dumb. She sounds like that because she is bought. That’s why she sounds like that. She doesn’t give a [*f*] about you. If she did, she’d be screaming for Medicare for All. She doesn’t give a [*f*] about the 30 million people left out of that. She cares about keeping power and pleasing her donors.

JOY ANN REID: When you mention other options—Medicare for All is obviously a very popular one among your caucus—um—we now…

JIMMY DORE: Of course, she [Reid] misstates it. Medicare for All—very popular among your caucus. [It is] very popular in the country; not just her [Pelosi’s Democratic] caucus. Very popular in the country. The overwhelming majority of people are for it. Her [Pelosi] caucus—it’s almost ubiquitous. Everybody, except her [Pelosi], is for it.

MARK VAN LANDUYT: The vast majority of Democrats want Medicare for All. The majority of Republicans want Medicare for All. … And independents. (Ed. Note: Here is a link: https://www.axios.com/support-for-medicare-for-all-poll-2018-midterms-2e6da34b-0147-4cb8-83ef-e32f39c1be69.html .)

STEF ZAMORANO: Nancy Pelosi doesn’t want…MEDICARE FOR ALL!

JIMMY DORE: What does that tell you? That tells you, Nancy Pelosi is your enemy. Nancy Pelosi is the person we have to work against. She’s the one standing in our way. We have to fight…Nancy Pelosi. She is not the opposition [to the Republicans and President Trump].

JOY ANN REID: …learn that, thanks to changeover in leadership [in the U.S. House of Representatives], there will be hearings for Medicare for All…

    NANCY PELOSI: Yes.

JOY ANN REID: Do you expect a Medicare for All bill to come to the floor this year?

    NANCY PELOSI: Well…understand this…

JIMMY DORE: [Imitating “Bugs Bunny” phrasing] …No! …That’s all folks! …No, I’m not doing it! …What you have to understand is—NO! [Pause] … Can you believe this? If the Democrats pass Medicare for All, which the country is for overwhelmingly, it would: A) Get people to the polls so they [the Democrats] could win next time; B) It would then out the Republicans for denying what everyone wants, because the Republicans in the Senate would have to crush it, or if they passed it Trump would have to veto it, and if they didn’t—we would have MEDICARE FOR ALL! But they [Republicans] would, and that’s your [Democrats] advantage. The problem is the Democrats don’t have an advantage because they’re not any better than the Republicans. They [the Democrats] also want to keep you from Medicare for All. That’s why—she [Pelosi] is not going to give you the advantage. And the she is going to wag her finger at you for not voting for Blue. She’s [Pelosi] doing things that suppress the vote—right out in the open. But, people will again—the stupid celebrities will be angry at Susan Sarandon and Jill Stein and me and people with no power; but the person with power [Pelosi] to enact change, to inspire people to go to the polls, because she has that power, isn’t going to do it [Medicare for All]. Why? Because she [Pelosi] is corrupt? And a liar. Why? Because she is paid to lie. You want to hear the rest of her [b.s.] answer?

NANCY PELOSI: Medicare for All is a good idea. But Medicare is not as good a benefit as the Affordable Care Act is if you are younger.

JIMMY DORE: Okay—THAT is a lie! She just made that up. She’s doing what Jake Tapper did at CNN. She’s telling you that the system we have now is better than Medicare for All. It’s not. Not even close. She’s lying! I don’t know—where did she get that from, Mark?

MARK VAN LANDUYT: How many people do we know under the age of 35 who do not have insurance? How many people do we know that work, who are underinsured, that cannot afford a medical emergency? These are people who have insurance. This is how big the crisis is here in America. And Medicare for All—there is literally no excuse not to be pushing Medicare for All at this point. It saves America trillions of dollars. It’s good economics. It’s good politics. And it’s good morality.

JIMMY DORE: It’s all those things.

STEF ZAMORANO: What—you want a healthy nation? Are you kidding me? You want people that are healthy and productive, and able to take care of themselves, and flourish? That’s crazy!

JIMMY DORE: So, when she [Pelosi] says something like that, Mark, is it a stretch to say she’s just blatantly lying and gaslighting her own constituents? Because, that’s what that is. It’s [the ACA] not better for people under 35, is it?

    MARK VAN LANDUYT: No!

JIMMY DORE: What would you call what she [Pelosi] is doing there?

MARK VAN LANDUYT: She’s pleasing her donors. Nancy Pelosi—her job is to somehow pacify the base of the Democratic Party, the voters, and also pacify the donors to the party; so, they don’t get alarmed, and so they keep the contributions coming in.

JIMMY DORE: So, in order to do that, she [Pelosi] sits in a TV studio, in front of a room full of people, and blatantly lies. And Joy Ann Reid doesn’t—of course she doesn’t—push back. She’s [Reid] bought!

STEF ZAMORANO: And you know what? I said this the other day: If you find yourself in a studio audience, and you see somebody who is a politician, and you think they’re saying—they’re lying—go ahead and start booing. And start holding them accountable.

  25. D January 28, 2019 9:59 am

    [PART #03]

JIMMY DORE: If they’re serving you up a plate of [b.s.], like Nancy Pelosi just did, Stef’s advice is to boo her [Pelosi, et al.]. That’s [Stef’s] advice. That’s my advice, also. So, you want to hear some more of this? This is stomach-turning.

NANCY PELOSI: And, so, we either have to expand the people who are getting the Affordable Care Act in a way they understand or we have to improve the benefits of Medicare. Medicare does not have a catastrophic plan. You have to go buy that.

JIMMY DORE: [Laughs] Medicare does not have a catastrophic plan! So, she’s saying the ACA is better than Medicare for All. That’s what [Pelosi is] saying, because Medicare…does not have a “catastrophic’ plan. Do you know she she is talking about, Mark?

MARK VAN LANDUYT: I haven’t a clue. All I know is that the healthcare insurance companies are not worth American not entering the 20th century—never mind the 21st century—and become a civilized nation.

STEF ZAMORANO: And why is an insurance company making profits?

JIMMY DORE: [Pelosi is] sitting there, doing a Jake Tapper on this room, and this “journalist” [Reid], and nobody says a [g.d.] thing. Nobody in that crowd says, “What?! You’re trying to pull a fast one, and say the ACA is better than Medicare [for All]? You liar! You liar! It costs twice as much. It leaves out 30 million people, and six hundred thousand people go bankrupt, who have healthcare insurance, every year. And we have worst results.” So, this is why—this is why—and all the [Democratic Party] progressives in the House voted for her to be speaker. (Ed. Note: Three did not: Alexandria Ocasio–Cortez, New York #14; Ro Khanna, California #17; and Tulsi Gabbard, Hawaii #02.)

MARK VAN LANDUYT: Jimmy—at least it keeps the power in the hands of the healthcare insurance companies, who are the real Death Panels in America.

NANCY PELOSI: We’re saying to people, “Understand what it is, what it means to the individual—and that’s a fair review of what we should have.”

JOY ANN REID: And you’ll have hearings on that?

NANCY PELOSI: And we’ll have hearings on the subject. Again…

JIMMY DORE: You see, “We’ll all have hearings on the subject. And then we’ll figure out a way to kill it [Medicare for All].”

STEF ZAMORANO: So, was the question about, “Will Medicare [for All] be discussed?”

MARK VAN LANDUYT: It’s gone to such a confused point. I don’t know what she [Pelosi] is talking about.

    STEF ZAMORANO: Okay.

JIMMY DORE: I really don’t know. The original question was, “How do you plan on fixing the ACA, and then Joy Reid said, ‘What about Medicare for All?’” And then she [Pelosi] then went on a word [salad], and said that Medicare for All isn’t good for young people. That it doesn’t have a catastrophic plan. Like, what is wrong with you [Pelosi]? You liar! And this is why we have [President Donald] Trump! But, there are a lot of people, most of them just complete corporate [a—holes], who will blame people with no money and power, and not blame people like this [Pelosi, et al.]. When did you ever see any of those celebrities—when did you see Billy on the street—hold Nancy Pelosi’s feet to the fire for not being for something [Medicare for All] that is popular? When have you ever heard one of those celebrities…when has Debra Messing ever held Nancy Pelosi’s feet to the fire for letting down out country and for suppressing the vote? And lying to people? …Never. Debra Messing—never! But, she [Messing] will voter-shame, and wag her finger at people, with more talent than her. (Ed. Note: Messing does this to Sarandon on Twitter.) This [Pelosi] is what’s wrong with the country! THIS! There is no opposition [to Trump, et al.]. There is no party that represents workers or the people. This is what’s wrong.

STEF ZAMORANO: This is weird. Okay. So, I went to Google, really quickly, I know—search engine!—I looked up “catastrophic coverage,” and it says, “Medicare.gov.” And, in the little phrase below, it says, You automatically get catastrophic coverage once you have spent, like, $5,000 out of pocket. So, here on medicare.gov, they start highlighting that you have access…

JIMMY DORE: That’s right—you have catastrophic coverage.

STEF ZAMORANO: So, I wonder what she [Pelosi] is talking about.

JIMMY DORE: Maybe she’s lying once again. The lies never stop with corporatists who are bought and paid for. And that’s why Nancy Pelosi is the leader. Why is she the leader of the Democrats in the House? Because she takes the most money from pharmaceutical companies, I’m guessing, and Wall Street and the military industrial complex. So, she gets the most corporate money, which is the most corrupting, She doesn’t keep it. She gives it to the other people in the House, the other Democrats—so they can go buy TV ads so they can run and be re-elected; so, now they owe her a debt; so, now they vote for her to be speaker; so she can get more money… Do you see how this, this cycle, how it works? This insidious cycle of corruption? And that is why someone like this, who couldn’t talk her way out of a paper bag, is the leader—and she’s sitting there lying to you, in front of a corrupted journalist, on corporate TV [MSNBC]. And you wonder why half the country doesn’t vote. And you wonder why they suppress this show. (Ed. Note: Dore is referring to what has become of YouTube.) Because they don’t want you to know anything. Because, pretty soon, we’re going to be like France. Because of [m—f’ers] like this [Pelosi] who keep [s—wing] you over and gaslighting you, in public, and [s—tty] journalists like this, Joy Ann Reid, the scum of the earth, [who doesn’t have] a bone in her body with any integrity in it to stand up to this [*s*]. It’s coming! The yellow vests are coming.

    [END]

  26. Pragmatic Progressive January 28, 2019 12:43 pm

The difference here is that the pundits we listen to are not emo progressives.

The pundits we listen to talk about the benefits of the ACA, such as these: https://familiesusa.org/5-ways-affordable-care-act-helping-real-people

Instead of constantly ranting about the cons of the ACA, they will talk about ways to improve it.

And they talk about the importance of not letting the Republicans destroy it.

  27. Rational Lefty January 28, 2019 5:02 pm

I found that whole discussion Jimmy Dore and his guests had to be rather hypocritical. He claims that Pelosi is not open to other ideas. Well, he’s not open to other ideas as well.

Another issue is his negative messaging. If he sincerely wants change in the party, he should encourage his listeners to take a queue from AOC and run for something, whether it be their local town council or their school board or something on their state or national level, just get more involved in the party.

  28. Princess Leia January 28, 2019 6:05 pm

Good point, Rational Lefty. I remember during the healthcare debate, Ed Schultz was upset about not getting the public option and was encouraging his listeners to sit out the election. Our side will never win elections with that kind of negative talk.

  29. Southern Liberal January 28, 2019 10:21 pm

There’s so many potential candidates that I like, that 2020 is going to be hard to choose.

  30. Former Republican January 29, 2019 8:35 am

He’s being dishonest to his audience about the ACA by not informing them of the pros and by not informing them of the fact that the ACA has grown in popularity.

  31. Princess Leia January 29, 2019 8:46 am

Telling positive information would ruin his image as a poutrager

  32. Southern Liberal January 29, 2019 5:47 pm

While Kamala Harris was on CNN, Elizabeth Warren was on Lawrence’s show last night at the same time. She talked about the shutdown. Also talked about her wealth tax plan.

  33. Rustbelt Democrat January 30, 2019 5:59 pm

Bringing back coal jobs is one of the many things Trump lied about to people.

Those jobs aren’t coming back because of cheap natural gas and the rising use of renewable power like solar and wind.

If Trump actually gave a darn about coal miners, he would have done what Hillary Clinton proposed and invested $30 million to help displaced miners by securing their health care and pension benefits, offering tax credits and job training, and pouring economic development money into coal mining regions. Instead, he continues his lies and does nothing.
