White Supremacists Emboldened By Trump Attacks On African American And Jewish Chairs Of House Committees Investigating Trump’s Abuse Of Power

In the midst of recent white supremacist massacres in El Paso and Dayton, there should be growing concern about the House Committee chairs who are African American and Jewish becoming potential targets of hate mongers.

Elijah Cummings of the House Oversight and Reform Committee and Maxine Waters of the House Financial Services Committee are African Americans, and Jerry Nadler of the House Judiciary Committee and Adam Schiff of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence are Jewish, and all four are particularly in the center of controversy, and therefore, targets for hate, with a lot of verbal attacks by Donald Trump against them.

The investigation of the abuse of power of Donald Trump must go on, but extra security for these Chairs is essential!

The Obscenity Of Donald Trump And Melania Trump Multiplies!

We are suffering as a nation in 2019 with the most disgraceful President and First Lady in American history.

The office of the Presidency and the image of the First Lady have been irreparably damaged by Donald and Melania Trump, who have no common decency, ethics, morals, compassion or empathy.

For our President to promote the breaking up of children from their families, both in cages organized by ICE and the Border Patrol, and have the First Lady wear a jacket that indicates she has no concern about that, while on a tour of the border, is obscene.

For the President to authorize an ICE raid that leaves children coming home from school with no adult supervision, as their hard working parents, already exploited by local businesses with low wages and horrible working conditions, are taken away, just days after the El Paso Massacre, that was provoked by the Latino hatred of the President, is a crime against humanity. It left children in tears, begging that their parents be allowed to come home. Any human being who was not touched by this inhumanity and prejudice is a very sick, warped person, who has the same mental illness and evil nature of our President.

And then, finally, for the President and First Lady to visit the El Paso hospital and the two of them posing with big smiles with the orphaned two month old baby whose parents were killed by the hatred of a young man inspired by Trump’s Latino hatred, is enough to condemn them both forever in history, as a stain on our history that will never go away.

And all that Trump cared about was being seen as a “rock star”, rather than about the suffering and loss of life perpetrated by his sick mind, and his porn star wife not stopping him, and joining in the big smiles and sick behavior of her husband.

Other First Ladies helped to humanize their husbands, but not this piece of trash, who herself and her parents came illegally, through her “talents” to pose nude with other women, and has shown that after all the years she has lived here, she cannot speak decent English, while racists and bigots complain about Latinos who cannot speak perfect English!

It is beyond the pale what is going on, and one just waits for karma to visit, as what goes around comes around, as the saying goes, and one should have no pity on either Donald or Melania Trump!

11 Years Of “The Progressive Professor” And Counting

Two days from now, on August 11, this blog will mark eleven years of commentary, and this entry now is the 6,420th entry, so with the round number, the author decided to commemorate this event two days early.

This idea of a blog, originally proposed by my son David, has been an enjoyable and challenging endeavor, and I thank all readers and contributors over the past 11 years, and intend to continue this commitment into the future years, as ideas and personalities are debated, and when the Presidency is in danger from the most dangerous person ever to hold that office.

I do not intend to remain silent or complicit, and if I lose so called “friends” in the process, so be it, as I will call out anyone who defends this President, who is destroying the Constitution, and will rank at the bottom of all Presidents, unmatched by any other Chief Executive.

No reputable historian or political scientist or award winning journalist is supportive of this demagogue, and I am content that morality, ethics, decency, compassion, and empathy are on my side, and I can sleep at night knowing that!

It will take years, if not decades, to overcome the damage and harm that he has wrought, and it is essential that he be defeated in 2020, along with Mike Pence, in order to see the light of the future, which would be a loving, welcoming, acceptance of the reality that America will NOT be a white majority nation in the 2040s, but rather a nation of all nations, the epitome of the Statue of Liberty!

The Democrats Have A Great “Farm System” For The Future, While The Republicans Have A Gloomy Future!

While the Republican Party gives up its future to Donald Trump, the Democratic Party has a bright future, as it has a great “farm system” for the future.

Think about it, that all of the new Democrats elected to Congress, and all of the younger Presidential contenders who will likely not make it to the Presidential nomination, offer much new talent for future advancement.

It is easy now to recruit the new generation to run for public office as Democrats, while Donald Trump has made it very distasteful and difficult for anyone to decide to run for office as a Republican.

With the nation’s future one of diversity, already many Democrats seeking office or in office are female, or African American, or Latino, or Asian American, or Native American, or Jewish, or gay, while the Republicans have a dwindling supply of mostly white Christian men, a dying species, as any rational person would steer away from being a Republican.

It seems clear that the Republican Party is dying, and that it cannot survive as a white male Christian party for the long run, while the Democratic Party has a bright future once it gets past the nightmare of Donald Trump, which will be seen as an aberration in history.

And with the Electoral College to see gains for such states as Texas, Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina in electoral votes for 2024 and 2028, and with the growing Latino influence in those states, the Democrats have a great edge on winning the Presidency and control of Congress in the 2020s decade!

Latinos, The Largest Minority In America, Face Threats Reminiscent Of Jews In Europe In The 1930s And 1940s—Total Fear And Danger From Government Inspired Hatred!

In the wake of the El Paso Massacre on August 3, America faces the stark reality, that its largest minority group in America, people of Latino heritage, from anywhere in Latin America, face threats reminiscent of Jews in Europe in the 1930s and 1940s.

Total fear and danger from government inspired hatred reminds us too much of Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany, and it is not too much hyperbole to state that Donald Trump has weaponized racists, misogynists, white supremacists, and white nationalists, who used to be in the shadows, to come out and promote and commit violence and bloodshed against people based on their ethnicity.

For Trump and his followers in the Republican Party to argue that there is an “invasion”, a “caravan”, when no such situation exists, is inspiring unstable people to cheer at Trump rallies when someone suggests “shoot them”, and Trump laughs and encourages such action in response.

These Latinos that are threatened include people of brown skin who are here legally, and were born in America, but feel that the nation they have grown up in is a threat to their lives, making victims of the El Paso Massacre afraid to go to the hospital to ask for medical aid.

The oppressive Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and the Border Patrol, have been given unconstitutional and illegal authority to deport undocumented immigrants without a court hearing and attorney representation by White House authorization, and they are acting much like the Nazi Gestapo.

Many are abusing children and women, the vast majority of the undocumented immigrants, who are escaping oppression, violence, and bloodshed in their homelands in Central America, in deteriorating situations encouraged by aggressive foreign policy of Ronald Reagan and other Republican Presidents since the 1980s, all in the name of backing right wing oppressive governments in the area.

Donald Trump has no intention of changing policy, and Latinos now face direct threats of violence and bloodshed and death, inspired by white supremacist websites, and young hoodlums who have mental illness and hate, and blame Latinos for their own insecurities and shortcomings, such as the disgusting photos of young white males holding a likeness of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, that they are strangling. These young men should be exposed for who they are, and be condemned by name by all decent people, and it is clear that their parents did a poor job of child rearing, a sign that this anti Latino hatred is a danger to a community that is 18 percent of the nation,at 58 million Americans, and continuing to grow, even without undocumented immigrants being counted in the population.

The American Civil Liberties Union, the Anti Defamation League, People For The American Way, the Southern Poverty Law Center, and innumerable other organizations are engaged in an intense struggle to protect Latinos, and their basic health and safety, and all decent Americans must assist in protecting the rights of Latinos, as much as the basic rights of African Americans, Asian Americans, Native Americans, Jews, women, gays and lesbians, and disabled people.

Twice There Have Been Three Presidents With Two Terms Of Office: Are We Likely To Have This Record Broken In 2020?

The years from 1993-2017 saw three consecutive Presidents serve eight years in office, with Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama.

This was only the second time that this had happened, with the first being under Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and James Monroe from 1801-1825.

So the question arises what are the odds of Donald Trump winning a second term, and serving eight years in office?

One would think that it would be highly unlikely that Trump, after such a divisive and unconstitutional Presidency, the worst in American history bar none, could possibly accomplish that feat.

But the fear is that it could indeed happen, if the following conditions occurred;

Donald Trump takes us into a major war, as divisive as that might be, because never has a sitting President lost reelection in the middle of a war.

The Democratic Party splits and divides, and is unable to be unified around a nominee.

A major international terrorist attack takes place shortly before the election, having the tendency to unite people around the sitting President in a fit of patriotism.

An independent candidate with money, such as Howard Schultz of Starbucks fame, or Tom Steyer, runs a campaign and gains a substantial percentage of the popular vote, denying it to the Democratic nominee.

The economy continues to flourish, which seems unlikely as this entry is being written, as already, it is the longest economic expansion in American history, and cannot go on forever. But if there are no clear signs of a recession before the election, the President in office invariably gains the edge in the election results.

So with these five scenarios, it is clear that Donald Trump, despite all we know about his shortcomings and abuse of power and corruption, could be the fourth straight President to win two terms in the Presidency, breaking historical record.

Racist, White Nationalist,White Supremacist Donald Trump Has Blood On His Hands, And Anyone Who Still Supports Him Does Too!

It is time to stop having excuses for those who support Donald Trump.

The El Paso and Dayton Massacres are finally a time to come to reality: that anyone who apologizes for, or excuses for, or thinks Donald Trump has viable ideas about race, nativism, white supremacy, white racism, is clearly one himself or herself.

Donald Trump has promoted racial animus for four years now, and has led to the worst outbreak of violence by impressionable young white men, a far greater threat than Islamic terrorism has wrought upon this nation.

Donald Trump talks about an Hispanic invasion, and defies history, that Texas and the Southwest have been Hispanic for centuries, and it was the United States which took half of Mexico away in the mid 19th century. It was the United States which fueled violence and bloodshed in Central America under Ronald Reagan in the 1980s, creating the turmoil in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua, which has led to the mass of victims trying to escape bloodshed, violence and terror in those nations, which has fueled desperate women and children to try to escape for their lives, as much as Jews and other refugees in Europe tried to escape Adolf Hitler three quarters of a century ago.

Donald Trump has encouraged violence and inspired crowds of racists, nativists, white supremacists, white nationalists to chant horrible utterances that for Hispanics in America, whether legal or undocumented, make them fear for their lives. And the Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has become no better than a Gestapo in Nazi Germany, rounding up people and separating children from their parents, who are being blamed for wanting to give their children a better life, something anyone who has children would want.

Imagine the horror of those Hispanics in El Paso, who now have to fear that ICE will hunt them down after the massacre, and separate their family members for deportation after such a tragic event! Does any person deserve to have that fear of their government, and yet, this is just the beginning!

Who cares if the economy is going well, although most of it was due to Barack Obama’s stewardship, who actually revived the American economy, and Trump is simply benefiting from that? The economy was great in Nazi Germany under Adolf Hitler, but we know what that led to, mass murder!

When one saw Trump laugh in the Florida Panhandle when someone in the audience said “Shoot Them” after his comment about the so called “Caravan” that never existed, one wonders what kind of message is that to the younger generation. Is it an endorsement of murdering Hispanics or Muslims or Jews or African Americans, who threaten the dominance of white Christians, who will, indeed, be a minority of America in the 2040s and beyond?

It is finally time to say no more excuses! If you, reading this, can justify and defend Donald Trump, you are yourself a racist, nativist, white supremacist, white nationalist, and deserve no defense, as you are a terrible human being who backs the demagogue in the White House, who does not give a whit about you, except to use you as a method to destroy the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the image of the Statue of Liberty.

Were Trump, God Forbid, to be reelected by this chanting mob of despicable human beings, who can say that extermination of “undesirables” would not be the next step? Look in your heart and spend some time thinking about that and repent for your sins!

The El Paso And Dayton Mass Murders Require Secret Service Protection Of Democratic Presidential Contenders!

The horrific massacres in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio over this weekend mark the 249th and 250th such events in 216 days of 2019.

It requires immediately the protection of the ten Democratic Presidential contenders who will be in the September debate in Houston, and all of these ten should have protection for as long as they are in the competition and for at least three months after they exit the race.

If we can afford to pay for Donald Trump’s golf outings at $110 million in the past two and a half years, then we must work to protect those trying for the Presidency.

As the author of a book on Presidential Assassinations and Threats, and with the memory of the death of Robert F. Kennedy and the shooting and paralysis of George Wallace a half century ago, it is urgent that such action be mandated NOW!

This is particularly the reality with the white supremacists and bigots who do not want a woman (Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar); a minority candidate (Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, Julian Castro, Andrew Yang); a candidate who is a declared Socialist and of Jewish heritage (Bernie Sanders); and a person of alternative sexual orientation (Pete Buttigeig), who is openly homosexual; to be a possible future Presidential nominee for the Democrats in 2020.

Removal Of Dan Coats As Director Of National Intelligence A Warning Sign On Foreign Policy For America

The decision of Donald Trump to remove Dan Coats as Director of National Intelligence is a major blow to the intelligence community and a danger sign on foreign policy for America.

Coats handled his job in a professional manner, often contradicting Trump on many national security issues.

Coats knew that Russia had intervened to help Trump win the Presidential Election of 2016, and was continuing to interfere in the upcoming Presidential Election of 2020 to help Trump once again.

Coats knew that North Korea was playing Trump for a fool, and will not ever denuclearize.

Coats knew that the Iran Nuclear Deal was working, and that breaking the treaty, supported by the United Kingdom, France, Germany, along with China and Russia, was a mistake.

Coats knew that ISIS (ISIL) is still a threat to promote terrorism in the Middle East, despite it losing its territorial base.

Coats knew that Saudi Arabia’s Prince Mohammed bin Salman arranged the brutal murder of Jamal Khashoggi, the Washington Post journalist, at the embassy in Turkey last year, despite Trump refusing to accept that reality.

It is Coats and other intelligence officials and agencies who have been leading the fight against the dangers presented by Donald Trump.

And it is good to see some Republicans, including Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr of North Carolina making clear that proposed replacement, Congressman John Ratcliffe of Texas, was totally unqualified to replace Coats.

The future security and safety of the United States is endangered every day Donald Trump remains as President of the United States!

Could Beto O’Rourke Or Julian Castro Carry Texas, And Win The Presidency?

An interesting idea has emerged, as stated by former Texas Congressman Beto O’Rourke.

He claims that polls show that he would win Texas over Donald Trump in 2020, and that he could, therefore, win the Presidency.

Meanwhile, polls do not show O’Rourke doing well, and his performance in the two debates so far is not inspiring.

But then, the question arises, could former San Antonio Mayor and Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro, who has performed very well in both debates, also possibly win his home state of Texas, and therefore win the Presidency?

There is no question that IF Texas was to go Democratic, it would insure Donald Trump’s defeat, and transform American politics.

It certainly seems likely that Texas will go eventually “Blue”, but maybe not until 2024 or 2028.

Of course, IF Texas AND Florida were to go “Blue”, with the latter nowhere near as likely, then the Democratic Party will win the Presidency for decades on end!
