Last night’s South Carolina CBS Democratic Presidential debate was often a shouting match more than a debate, as Bernie Sanders demonstrated his grouchy disposition and inflexibility.
Coming out of the debate experience, the steadiness of Pete Buttigieg showed through, as he was more the adult in the room at age 38 than all of his rivals much older than himself.
Pete was a voice of reason and common sense, and I renew my endorsement of the former South Bend, Indiana Mayor as the best choice for the Democratic Party to challenge Donald Trump.
The fact that he accepts the help of some billionaires is not a big deal, and the concept that Bernie Sanders would refuse the help of Michael Bloomberg, when all financial help is needed to have a shot at defeating Donald Trump, is a stunning sign of his inability to see reality through his ideological lens.
Sadly, Super Tuesday might be the end of many candidacies, if Sanders does well, but with such a result, we will likely see the demise of any chance of a Democratic takeover of the White House and the US Senate, barring a miracle. And even control of the House of Representatives is likely to be lost if Sanders is the nominee!
I haven’t weighted in with my opinion on former South Bend, Indiana mayor, 2017 Democratic National Committee chairman candidate, and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg. But, this video summarizes my thoughts quite well.

D, I am disappointed in you, with this “hit job” video on Pete Buttigieg.
I do NOT care if he is like Obama, as I think Obama, with his faults, which we all have, was the best President in 50 years!
Candidates have quoted and used FDR and JFK, so why not quote and use Obama?
D, you can do better that that! 🙁
I’m very impressed by Pete Buttigieg. Very intelligent young man.
If Buttigieg doesn’t win the nomination, I think he would make a good VP pick for someone or a position on someone’s cabinet.
Biden/Buttigieg would be a good ticket.
Clyburn has endorsed Biden.
CNN has been having town halls. Joe Biden does better in those than in the debates. Bloomberg just had his town hall. Bloomberg also did better with the town hall format, and his town hall has made me seriously consider him as one of my alternatives to Biden, if Biden doesn’t make it to Super Tuesday.
I prefer the town hall format as well. You don’t have tons of candidates having food fights with each other, like what happened last night, and the questions from the audience are better than some of the questions the moderators come up with.
I want someone younger than 70, so I’m thinking about either Klobuchar or Buttigieg.
New Monmouth poll has Biden crushing Bernie in SC.

Rustbelt – Biden/Klobuchar would be a good pairing as well.
