Happy Birthday, President Elect Biden! A True Hero Of Courage, Principle, Decency, Sincerity As You Face The Greatest Crisis Since Franklin D. Roosevelt

Today is the 78th Birthday of President Elect Joe Biden, a true hero of courage, principle, decency and sincerity.

Joe Biden needs all of our prayers as he faces the most difficult transition and multiple crises since Franklin D. Roosevelt 88 years ago.

With President Donald Trump refusing to concede and promote the transition, the nation is in a crisis far worse than after FDR defeated Herbert Hoover in 1932.

Those two Presidents did not get along, but even Hoover conceded while being bitter over his defeat. But Trump is preventing the General Services Administration head Emily Murphy from authorizing the release of funds and access to secret intelligence information that the President Elect needs to move forward as the inauguration takes place exactly two months from today, 61 days of stress and tension that should not be occurring.

Joe Biden is handling this mess very well, and is to be commended, and he is proving every day how stable he is mentally despite all of the critics who claim he shows signs of dementia, pure propaganda!

What is true is that the nastiness of Republicans of the same age bracket demonstrates how they, not Joe Biden, have signs of dementia, and this author and blogger is referring to Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani, Newt Gingrich, and Mitch McConnell in the forefront!

Their hatred and bigotry shows through, while Democrats who are in the same age bracket show total signs of capacity and decency just as much as Joe Biden, and this author and blogger is referring to such people as Nancy Pelosi, James Clyburn, Steny Hoyer, Bernie Sanders, and John Kerry!

What If Donald Trump Had Been Removed From Office On February 5, And Mike Pence Was President?

On the day eight and a half months into the COVID 19 Pandemic, as we have reached 250,000 deaths and reached an all time high of 189,000 new infections, one looks back at the Impeachment Trial of Donald Trump, which ended the day before the first reported death.

If the Republican Party had abandoned Donald Trump, they would have regained some of their lost dignity and respect, but instead, only Mitt Romney voted to remove Donald Trump from the Presidency.

Had Trump been removed on February 5, 2020, Mike Pence would have become President, and one would like to hope that he would have pursued a different direction relating to the COVID 19 Pandemic.

Had he done so, it is possible to believe that Pence might have defeated Joe Biden in this month’s election, but we will never know what he might have done, and the reaction of voters.

So instead of having a sharply lower death total, we have the reality of as many deaths as the military suffered in World War II, but in less than nine months, not nearly four years, a tragedy of massive proportions!

Donald Trump Obsesses On An Election He Lost, And Endangers America On COVID 19 And National Security

Donald Trump is wasting his last two plus months in office obsessing on an election he lost, undermining faith in American democracy at a time of America being endangered by the COVID 19 Pandemic, which he refuses to relate to, or care about the massive loss of life, now 250,000 men, women, and children after only 8 months.

Trump is also a danger to national security, with his reckless plan to attack Iran, and withdraw troops precipitously from Iraq and Afghanistan, undermining the fight against terrorism worldwide, and angering even many Republicans.

It has made this transition the most dangerous and tense since 1932-1933 (Franklin D. Roosevelt and Herbert Hoover), and 1860-1861 (Abraham Lincoln and James Buchanan).

Joe Biden faces a series of crises even greater than Barack Obama faced after his election in 2008.

Joe Biden Victory As 46th President More Impressive By The Day As The Final Two Percent Is Tabulated

With votes still being counted in the Presidential Election of 2020, it is clear that the Joe Biden victory is more impressive by the day.

Biden has now twice as large a popular vote lead over Donald Trump than Hillary Clinton had in 2016, and gained the exact same result in the Electoral College that Donald Trump had four years ago, 306-232.

Biden will end up winning 80 million votes, in an election where it seems 18 million more people will have voted than in 2016. He has a 3.6 percentage point lead over Donald Trump as the final two percent is tabulated.

The fact that Biden won back the Midwest (Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania) that Hillary Clinton narrowly lost in 2016 is a massive accomplishment.

Winning two Sun Belt States (Georgia and Arizona) is also a major event, and shows signs that the Sun Belt will move toward the Democratic Party as the 2020s go by, and once that happens, the Republican Party, unless it changes its racist and nativist agenda, will never win the Presidency again!

Senators Marco Rubio And James Lankford Call For Giving Joe Biden The Transition Funding And Intelligence Briefing He Is Entitled To

Late last week, Republican Senators Marco Rubio and James Lankford of Oklahoma called upon President Trump to allow the General Services Administration bureaucrat who must sign off on intelligence briefings for President Elect Joe Biden to do so, and to give the President Elect necessary transition funding.

And yet four days later, no such action has been taken, and it undermines US National Security that could be very dangerous.

Fortunately, Vice President Elect Kamala Harris is a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, and can get such briefings for that reason.

Trump is acting very irresponsibly, as his time in office ticks down to just nine more weeks from this Wednesday, and he is clearly showing he has no concern about the loss of life from COVID 19, and the danger to the nation of a potential attack!

If Only Women Had Voted In The Presidential Election–Biden 462, Trump 76!

The ultimate misogynist in the Presidency, Donald Trump, helped to defeat himself in the Presidential Election of 2020, by having massive margins of women of all colors vote against him.

So if only women had ben able to vote, Joe Biden would have won 462 electoral votes and 37 states, while Donald Trump would have won 76 electoral votes from 13 states, but actually losing two Nebraska votes of the five that state has.

The states Trump would have won are:

West Virginia
Kentucky
Tennessee
Alabama
Arkansas
Louisiana
Oklahoma
North Dakota
South Dakota
Nebraska
Wyoming
Utah
Idaho

This is amazing, meaning Ohio, Iowa, North Carolina, Florida, and Texas, all aspired to by Joe Biden but won by Donald Trump, would have gone to the Democrats if only women could have voted.

Additionally, such strong Republican “Red” states as Indiana, Missouri, South Carolina, Mississippi, Kansas, Montana, and even Alaska, and two districts, rather than one in Nebraska, would have gone Blue!

“Socialism” And “Defund The Police” Killed Democratic House Numbers, Endangering Majority In 2022

The Democratic Party needs to realize that if it goes too far to the Left, it will doom President Joe Biden’s efforts for success!

Unfortunately, the Congressional Elections of 2020 demonstrated that the nation is still very split on what is desirable to accomplish, as the Republican opposition and Donald Trump utilized fear of the word “Socialism”, as if Joe Biden and the Democrats are equivalent of Communist leaders in Cuba, China, the Russian Federation, and other left wing regimes, such as Venezuela and Nicaragua!

This shows total ignorance of the term “Socialism”, and the reality that America is a mixed Capitalist-Socialist nation, with the Socialist party of Eugene Debs and Norman Thomas in the first half of the 20th century contributing many ideas, which over time, were part of the New Deal of Franklin D. Roosevelt, the Great Society of Lyndon B. Johnson, and many other progressive reform since then.

But it is clear that had Bernie Sanders somehow been the Democratic nominee for President, he would NOT have been able to win, as only a moderate centrist with a tip to the Left, as Joe Biden has been his whole life, could possibly have won back the Midwest states of Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, along with the Sun Belt states of Georgia and Arizona, and not lose any of the 20 states that Hillary Clinton won in 2016.

Also, while there have been too many outrageous examples of police abuse and brutality, and particularly against African American males and Latino males, and really even females, the answer is police reform and accountability, not “Defund the Police”, as they are still essential.

Sadly, the Senate only saw two Democrats elected (Mark Kelly, John Hickenlooper), while one (Doug Jones) was defeated, gaining only one seat, to 48, although Georgia creates an opportunity in its runoff election for the chance to have a 50-50 Senate, that Vice President Kamala Harris could organize as a Democratic Senate, with Chuck Schumer as Senate Majority Leader, instead of the horrible Mitch McConnell.

But there is danger of the House of Representatives, in a midterm election, going back to the Republicans, since they have gained at least 5-7 seats in the 117th Congress, and with the reality, that the party in the White House usually loses seats in the following midterm election.

The Senate will have, again, twice as many Republican seats up for election in 2022, but this scenario did not work out in 2020, so no assurance there either of retaining or gaining a Democratic Senate majority, which is so urgent to make Joe Biden a successful President!

Suddenly, Age And Experience Are Positives In A Time Of Turmoil

Suddenly, age and experience are positives in a time of turmoil.

Joe Biden has had the most elected government experience of any President in American history, a total of 44 years, including 36 as a US Senator, 18th longest in history, and 8 years as an exceptional Vice President to Barack Obama, totally engaged, and the last person in the room with his President, similar to Walter Mondale under Jimmy Carter.

Only John Quincy Adams has more total government experience, with 49 years, with 23 years in appointments as ambassador to five nations, and Secretary of State.

Joe Biden has more foreign policy experience before becoming President than any modern President, except Richard Nixon and George H. W. Bush, and one could argue that he has more of it, including being Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman. Nixon and Bush also served as Vice President for eight years each, but neither had the 36 years total of elected experience otherwise, with Nixon having six years and Bush having four years.

Biden also has more connections and contacts with foreign leaders and government agencies, with his long 44 year career than any modern President.

So being older, 78 in one week, is NOT necessarily a negative factor for Joe Biden, and it is ironic that his 44 years in government put up against Donald Trump’s ZERO government experience, the only President to have no government or military experience, makes Biden ever more exceptional.

We are fortunate to have Joe Biden becoming the 46 President of the United States in 68 days, as we move beyond the literal nightmare of Donald Trump’s Presidency!

Joe Biden Selection Of Ron Klain As White House Chief Of Staff A Great Start!

President Elect Joe Biden has selected Ron Klain as White House Chief of Staff, a great start and an excellent appointment!

The Chief of Staff is an extremely important position, as he organizes the President’s day and agenda, and Klain has already worked with Al Gore, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden himself.

Klain has great background and experience, and is totally hard working and loyal, and it makes one feel very positive about the future!

The fact that Klain worked on the Ebola Crisis in 2014 and the Economic Crisis in 2009 demonstrates he will make a massive difference in the fight against the COVID 19 Pandemic and the Second Great Depression that has emerged from it.

Kamala Harris Will Bring Uniqueness And Challenge In Her Role As Vice President

Kamala Harris will bring a sense of uniqueness and challenge to the status quo as she takes on the new role as Vice President of the United States on January 20, 2021.

As the first woman Vice President, and as a person of color with her African American and South Asian American heritage, Harris will draw attention just on that basis, but also with the reality that she may have to spend a lot of time in the US Senate, if the Democratic Party can win both open Georgia seats coming up for a vote on January 5.

If that occurs, she will organize the Senate as Presiding Officer, and make New York Senator Chuck Schumer the Majority Leader, and will have to break ties on many issues that may arise.

Even if a Democratic controlled Senate does not occur, she will have an extremely active role as Vice President, and will be utilized by President Biden in a way only that Biden himself had with Barack Obama, and Walter Mondale had with Jimmy Carter, and Al Gore had with Bill Clinton.

Harris will be combative, as she was as a California Senator for four years, and she will be constantly judged by the news media, and by opposition Republicans.

And with the strong likelihood that Joe Biden may retire after one term, she will certainly be the frontrunner for the Democratic nomination for the Presidency in 2024.

Believe it or not, the speculation over the next Presidential race has begun in earnest!
