President Joe Biden is 81 years of age today, and on this birthday, we wish the President all the best.
Despite his age, Joe Biden is physically fit, has a solid record of accomplishment, and is a safe, competent choice for the next four years.
The likely Republican opponent, Donald Trump, is none of the above, and is a danger to the nation and the international community, with his raving and threats to establish an authoritarian Fascist government if he ends up in the White House!
Joe Biden has accomplished more in domestic affairs than any President since Lyndon B. Johnson, and has provided strong international leadership, solidifying NATO, and backing Ukraine and Israel, two crucial situations that will affect the future of world affairs.
Biden has always been underrated, and faces strong headwinds in the upcoming Presidential Election of 2024, but he represents the survival and stability of American democracy and international stability!
Let all decent people wish Joe Biden a Happy Birthday, and support this decent, compassionate man as he faces challenges greater than any President since World War II!
Do you think we could call him a “Stable Genius?”
Haha 😀
Yes, I think that is a proper term, lol, haha! 🙂
For some reason, that messaging is not getting through to young people.
In NBC’s latest poll, one thing that 18-35 year-olds are disappointed about is Biden’s handling of the Israel- Hamas war. They are also disappointed because of no progress regarding issues such as student loans, etc.
CNN asked some young voters about their disappointment regarding Biden. One of them said it’s because he hasn’t delivered on the promises given to young voters. Several said that because of Biden’s age, they feel he doesn’t understand the views of progressive Democratic voters.
I get the impression that they want Biden to be more of a fighter, like Bernie Sanders. Bernie is a year older than Biden but he vociferously champions issues that young people care about. They feel that Bernie is fighting for them. They feel that Biden hasn’t fought hard enough.
Pragmatic – You hit the nail on the hit. I’ve been of the opinion that Biden needs to show more spunk.
I still don’t get the appeal in RFK Jr. In a new poll I saw this morning on our local ABC affiliate, Trump was at 32%, Biden was at 30%, RFK Jr was at 20%.
Seconded, Rustbelt. I would prefer someone younger, more energetic.
Someone on Dana Bash’s panel on CNN at lunchtime mentioned that young progressives being disappointed with Biden over the Israel-Hamas war is probably generational differences regarding Zionism.
I think the abortion issue will get young people to vote for Democrats.
I think it’s as I had mentioned previously. The sympathies of young people, and people on the left generally, rests with those who are seen as disadvantaged. Conditions in Gaza have often been described as exceptionally bleak by numerous international aid organizations. Reporters and commentators on MSNBC, as well as other left-wing sources, such as Huffington Post, Daily Kos, Common Dreams, etc., often refer to it as an open air prison. The hope is that eventually a two state solution will be reached.
Once Trump becomes the Republican nominee, I’m hoping that will remind people of what a horrible creep he is.
Re: Young people being upset over the Israel-Hamas war – Like the with Bin Laden letter they were praising on Tik Tok last week, I don’t think these young people have much historical context.
Former Republican, I totally agree with you, as I can see in my own students, that many have great ignorance and lack of historical context. Hopefully, I do enlighten them in my classes, but many young people do not have that exposure!
I hear that there were record sales this year for Black Friday.
