JD Vance: Another Horrendous Republican Vice Presidential Nominee!

The Republican Party, historically, has often selected horrendous Vice Presidential nominees, and unfortunately, some of them end up as Vice President, making one concerned even more than normally, about the health and safety of the Republican President.

JD Vance of Ohio adds to a list of such nominees, including:

William E. Miller, running mate of Barry Goldwater in 1964
Spiro Agnew, running mate of Richard Nixon in 1968 and 1972
Dan Quayle, running mate of George H. W. Bush in 1988 and 1992
Sarah Palin, running mate of John McCain in 2008

Also, others, such as Jack Kemp, running mate of Bob Dole in 1996; Dick Cheney, running mate of George W. Bush in 2000 and 2004; Paul Ryan, running mate of Mitt Romney in 2012; and Mike Pence, running mate of Donald Trump in 2016 and 2020, while all “qualified” and experienced, had many negative aspects to their candidacies.

The only exceptions one could claim were fully qualified and acceptable were Nelson Rockefeller as Vice President to Gerald Ford, and George H. W. Bush as Vice President to Ronald Reagan, and also Bob Dole as running mate of Gerald Ford in 1976.

And now we have JD Vance, who has only served 18 months as a Senator from Ohio, and who has completely changed his views on Donald Trump from what they were in 2016. And Vance comes across as a MAGA extremist who is unwilling to support Ukraine in its war with Russia; wants no exceptions for rape or incest with a total ban on abortion; and is clearly perceived as a “mini Trump”, who could carry on the Trump views in the future Republican Party.

And realize Vance called Trump a potential Adolf Hitler eight years ago, and now embraces him! If that is not a danger sign to voters, then such voters have no principles or conscience!

Helen Comperatore, whose husband was killed Saturday when a gunman tried to assassinate Donald Trump at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, said she declined to speak to President Joe Biden when he called her family afterward.

“I didn’t want to talk to him,” she told the New York Post on Monday. “My husband was a devout Republican and he would not have wanted me to talk to him.”

    Rustbelt –

I’ve become rather skeptical of the polls. I feel that they are either underestimating Biden or overestimating Trump.

Or maybe a lot of stupid voters have amnesia about what a horrible president Trump was.

President Joe Biden’s campaign has been extended — and accepted — a new potential date from CBS News for the vice presidential debate, according to a campaign official, on the heels of former President Donald Trump choosing Ohio Sen. JD Vance as his running mate.

Weeks prior, the Biden campaign had accepted two dates for a possible VP debate: July 23 and August 13. It has now also said yes to August 12.

The visuals of him climbing the steps to board AF-1 aren’t going to do him any favors. He had to stop and rest on about the 3rd step.

ABC News is reporting that Schumer told Biden on Saturday that it would be best if Biden bowed out of the presidential race. ABC News also reports that Hakeem Jeffries has reportedly expressed views similar to Schumer’s to President Biden.

A senior Democratic advisor told CNN’s Jeff Zeleny that he believes Biden is becoming “more receptive” to concerns about his electability and, in conversations with other top Democrats, is “not as defiant as he is publicly.” He’s reportedly now asking advisors if he thinks Harris has a better chance of winning than him.

“It is still unclear where he’s going to land,” the advisor told Zeleny, “but he seems to be listening.”

We can’t afford to lose the House, nor the Senate. It’s time for Biden to step aside and let Kamala or whoever be the new nominee.

Megadonor Jeffrey Katzenberg Reportedly Warns Biden: Donor Cash Is Drying Up

A new report from Semafor alleges donors for the Biden campaign are beginning to rethink their support.

Biden met with Hollywood executive and top Democratic donor Jeffrey Katzenberg in Las Vegas on Wednesday to discuss strategy, according to the report. Katzenberg allegedly told Biden that donors’ patience is getting thin and that the cash flow could stop.

CNN obtained a polling memo from Blue Rose Research, which is distributed daily to operatives and officials across the Democratic Party. Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is among those who pore over the details and findings in documents like this that are rarely shared.

The memo, dated Wednesday, shines a brighter light on the reasons behind the calls for Biden to step aside.

“Concerns about President Biden’s fitness for office are pervasive,” the memo says, pointing to polling data that shows a remarkable low number of voters – even those who supported Biden in 2020 – who believe he is capable of serving a second term.

While partisan polling does not meet CNN standards, the 16-page document has value because it offers a window into the panic and alarm across the Democratic Party.

An AP-NORC poll released Wednesday found 14% of all Americans are extremely or very confident that Biden has the “mental capacity to be an effective president. Among Democrats, that number is 27%.

The internal polling data shows an expanding battleground in the presidential race, with New Hampshire, Minnesota, New Mexico, Virginia and Maine becoming highly competitive in the race between Biden and Trump, in addition to the seven current top battleground states.

I bet he does so this weekend.

If he gets replaced, we have to back the new nominee 100%.

If Biden steps aside and Harris becomes the Presidential nominee, I like the idea of Whitmer as VP. An all-female Dem ticket really puts what is going on with Reproductive Rights front and center, and pairs an AG/Senator/VP with a successful multi-term Rust Belt Governor.
