Kamala Harris On To Roaring Start In Presidential Campaign!

Kamala Harris is off to a roaring start in her Presidential campaign, with $126 million raised since Sunday, 1.4 million donors making contributions, 2,000 applying to work for Harris, and over 100,000 signing up to volunteer!

Meanwhile, Donald Trump is faltering, very obvious in his appearance, his vacant look in his eyes, his inability to finish sentences, his rambling and making no sense.

Also, the assassination attempt, and the harm it did to him beyond the edge of his right ear, is unclear, but to believe he will be able to have the energy to be President for the next four years is to believe in Fantasy Land.

So the reality is voting for Trump is voting for JD Vance, who already is seen as a negative factor, more than any Vice Presidential nominee going back at least to 1980.

Imagine that Vance’s public opinion ratings are lower than Sarah Palin and Dan Quayle at this point of the campaign!

Trump has gone even too weird, even for Elon Musk!

Elon Musk is backing off his commitment of giving Trump $45 Million per Month in campaign contributions.. (plus probably also linked to the fact that Tesla’s stock has dropped by 40% in value.)

Trump could never, ever give a speech like Biden gave tonight.

Harris had a meeting with Netanyahu today. She made a few remarks afterwards. She said it is time to get the ceasefire and hostage release deal done. She also put her support behind the two-state solution. She urged everyone to condemn terrorism, violence, antisemitism, islamophobia and hate of any kind.

James Carville was on The ReidOut (Michael Steele covering as host instead of Joy Reid) today raving about Harris’ speech on the situation in Gaza. He flat-out said her speech made him giddy!

I agree with him on that. She sounded like a president! 🙂

    From Reuters:

U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris sharply pressed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday about the humanitarian situation in Gaza in “frank” talks that were watched for signs of how she might shift American policy about Israel if she becomes president.

“Israel has a right to defend itself. And how it does so matters,” Harris told reporters after the meeting. She said she raised her serious concerns about the scale of human suffering in Gaza. “I made clear my serious concern about the dire humanitarian situation there,” she said. “I will not be silent.”

Reuters comment: “Harris has been aligned with Biden on Israel but has struck a tougher tone. Harris’ remarks, which were sharp and serious in tone, reflected what could be a shift from President Joe Biden in how she deals with Netanyahu.”

CNN’s senior political data reporter Harry Enten over the weekend examined how likely Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris may have more paths to victory over Donald Trump than President Joe Biden, who ended his campaign last week, did.

Enten described the current race between GOP nominee Trump and Vice President Harris as “tight, tight, tight,” still “way too close to call” with 100 days to go and with “no clear leader.”

But the “big change” is how Trump had been leading Biden by 6 percentage points before the president ended his campaign, and pollsters now have Harris down 1 point to Trump, said Enten.

Enten said two paths ― securing the Great Lakes states or the Sun Belt states ― could lead Harris to defeat Trump in November. Harris has “a lot more electoral paths” than Biden did, he added.

But there is “so much time to go,” said Enten, who warned “the unexpected, I honestly think, should be expected.”
