If Kamala Harris Wins Presidency, She Would Be 16th Vice President To Become President!

If Vice President Kamala Harris wins the Presidency in November 2024, she would become the 16th Vice President to succeed to the Presidency.

There have been 49 Vice Presidents, so only about 30 percent have made it to the White House.

Four, before Harris, have made it by election (Adams, Jefferson, Van Buren, H W Bush); eight by death of the President; one by resignation (Ford); and two winning the Presidency later than the next term (Nixon and Biden)

The list includes:

John Adams after George Washington 1797–Election
Thomas Jefferson after John Adams 1801–Election
Martin Van Buren after Andrew Jackson 1837–Election
John Tyler after William Henry Harrison 1841–Death
Millard Fillmore after Zachary Taylor 1850–Death
Andrew Johnson after Abraham Lincoln 1865–Death
Chester Alan Arthur after James Garfield 1881–Death
Theodore Roosevelt after William McKinley 1901–Death
Calvin Coolidge after Warren G. Harding 1923–Death
Harry Truman after Franklin D. Roosevelt 1945–Death
Lyndon B. Johnson after John F. Kennedy 1963–Death
Richard Nixon 8 years after Dwight D. Eisenhower 1969
Gerald Ford after Richard Nixon 1974–Resignation
George H. W. Bush after Ronald Reagan 1989–Election
Joe Biden 4 years after Barack Obama 2021

After Harris’ acceptance speech last night, CNN’s Gary Tuchman spoke to a group of eight undecided voters in Allentown, Pennsylvania in the hope of gauging whether or not they were swayed by Harris’ speech.

When Tuchman asked if they “were ready to make a commitment after today,” seven hands went up. And six of them said they would be voting for Harris, while a voter named Brian (who works in real estate) said he would be voting for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

A voter named Lindsey remained uncommitted, telling CNN, “Still probably not voting.” Asked if she “didn’t like either of them,” Lindsey responded, “Nope.”

Allentown voter Scott said of Harris, “I really liked her confidence. She really seemed presidential…. She spoke from her heart.”

Tuchman asked them to grade Harris’ speech on an A-F scale. Three voters gave her an A, while three gave her a B+. Harris also received one B and 1 C.

Voter Donna said she gave Harris an A because she “hit all the points that I wanted to know about.”

“I wanted to know more about her, her economic policies, foreign policy,” Donna told Tuchman, adding that Harris “looked very presidential.”

Brian said he gave Harris a C because she “wasn’t clear enough on the policies.”

Patrick, a United Auto Workers (UAW) member, gave Harris a B+, saying that she could have been more “in depth.”

I thought it was a home run of a speech.

Hahaha. After Trump ranted on Fox, he called Newsmax to keep the meltdown going a while longer.
