Trump Cabinet Hearings: Possibility Of Rejection By Some Republican Senators!

With one week until the inauguration of Donald Trump to a second non-consecutive term, the time has arrived for the consideration of the approval or rejection of his Cabinet nominees.

There are so many controversial nominees, and one wonders if there are Republican Senators who are willing to come out against such individuals as:

Pete Hegseth–Secretary of Defense
Robert F. Kennedy Jr.–Secretary of Health and Human Services
Tulsi Gabbard—Director of National Intelligence
Kash Patel—Federal Bureau of Investigation Head

And there are others who are also objectionable on verious grounds, but likely will sail through, but with the above having the likelihood of some being rejected.

Who would be candidates for voting against some or all of these nominees, in order of likelihood:

Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski
Utah Senator John Curtis
Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell
Maine Senator Susan Collins
Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy
Iowa Senator Joni Ernst
North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis
Oklahoma Senator James Lankford

I’m not too surprised about that. Most country stars lean to the right.

If I were in her shoes, I would decline to invite him too.

    One word for that: Oligarchy

I definitely plan on not watching it.

Rashida Jones is stepping down as president of MSNBC and one of her top lieutenants, Rebecca Kutler, is taking over as interim network president.

The change atop the progressive news network comes as its corporate parent, Comcast, prepares to spin off MSNBC and other cable channels into a separate publicly traded company.

Democratic senators aggressively questioned Pete Hegseth about his past allegations, but Republicans gave him a warm reception.

Sen. Ernst says she will support Hegseth, increasing his likelihood of confirmation.

Biden is set to deliver a farewell address tonight at 8.

    Joni Ernst is horrible.

I predict that these spineless Republicans will put through, most, if not all, of these unqualified clowns.

Trump will begin his presidency in delicate position, poll finds.

“More people hold an unfavorable than favorable view of him, most are against pardoning those convicted of attacking the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, and they’re split on whether to mass deport immigrants who are in the U.S. without legal status. Perhaps most importantly, Americans have high expectations that their personal financial situations will improve under Trump, but more think tariffs will hurt rather than help the economy.”

All Democrats need to take their cue from Michelle Obama. No Democrat should attend the inauguration.

  14. Rustbelt Democrat January 16, 2025 9:23 am

    That does NOT bode well.

  15. Princess Leia January 16, 2025 9:25 am

Biden shouldn’t attend either. In fact, no Democrat should attend.

I think that CNN is trying to appeal to MAGA Republicans.

That Republican commentator they have on the network, Scott Jennings, was putting down Jimmy Carter during a discussion the day after his death.

He sparked more outrage recently during a discussion about the California wildfires. Like other MAGA Republicans, he insinuated that diversity-hiring initiatives were behind the lack of containment of the deadly L.A. fires.

Seconded, Pragmatic. That guy is exactly what the shameful CNN execs want – outrage to attract eyeballs and ratings.

Far-right leaders around the world are being invited to Trump’s inauguration.

Trump’s swearing-in ceremony will be moving indoors due to cold weather on Monday.
