One Month Of Donald Trump: Radical, Revolutionary, Abusive, Authoritarian Threat On American Democratic Tradition! :(

Today marks one month of the second, nonconsecutive term of Donald Trump in the Presidency.

Public opinion polls show Trump “under water”, and he stands out in a very negative way as radical, revolutionary, abusive, and authoritarian, and a threat to the continuation of the American democratic tradition.

It is also shocking how the Republican Party has “sold its soul” to Trump, repudiating their past views on domestic and foreign policy!

The “Blue State” governors, the news media, and the courts are resisting Trump and his right wing Fascism at this point, but the question is how successful they might be, and what if Trump refuses to obey courts, and decides to start direct violent action against his critics in the states, in Congress, and the news media.

Would he use the military to defy the First Amendment?

This is a moment of soberness and reckoning, as the near term future looks gloomy, but the battle and the fight must not be abandoned!

Nearly 100 migrants, recently deported by the United States to Panama where they had been locked in a hotel, were loaded onto buses Tuesday night and moved to a detention camp on the outskirts of the jungle, several of the migrants said.

It is unclear how long the group, which was deported under the Trump administration’s sweeping effort to expel unauthorized migrants, will be detained at the jungle camp.

Conditions at the site are primitive, the detainees said. Diseases, including dengue are endemic to the region, and the government has denied access to journalists and aid organizations.

“It looks like a zoo, there are fenced cages,” said one deportee, Artemis Ghasemzadeh, a 27-year-old migrant from Iran, after arriving at the camp following a four-hour drive from Panama City. “They gave us a stale piece of bread. We are sitting on the floor.”

The group includes eight children, according to a person with knowledge of the situation who was not authorized to speak on the record. Lawyers have said it is illegal to detain people in Panama for more than 24 hours without a court order.

One downsizing just started attracting notice among insiders at the National Institutes of Health, because it seems particularly inexplicable: According to people familiar with the situation, approximately one-tenth of the workers have now been let go at the NIH’s Center for Alzheimer’s and Related Dementias, or CARD, including its incoming director, a highly regarded scientist credited with important innovations in the field.

Since January 20th, the Trump administration has done the following:

*Banned the use of words like “women,” “disability,” “bias,” “status,” “trauma,” “Black,” “Hispanic communities,” as well as “socioeconomic,” “ethnicity” and “systemic” at the National Science Foundation.
*Banned the use of words like “immigrant,” “undocumented,” “foreign assistance,” “Green New Deal,” “climate change,” “diversity,” “equity,” “racism,” “discrimination,” “transgender,” “LGBT,” “abortion,” “pregnant,” “birth control” and “fetus” from the Commerce Department.

So…the owner of Politico is a fascist. Keep that in mind if and when you read Politico.

CNN was talking at lunchtime about how the Democrats are responding to what’s going on. They’re all over the place in their responses. Seth Moulton says to calm down, while AOC says we need to fight.

I’m definitely in agreement with AOC. When one party is doing an illegal seizure of the entire government and throwing checks and balances out the window, you have to start playing hardball.

Trump is falsely claiming that he’s has a 71% approval rating. Here’s his real numbers:

Reuters Ipsos poll has him at 44%, down from 47% in January.
The Washington Post poll has him at 43%.
Quinnipiac University, CNN and Gallup all range from 44 to 47%.

    Must be a Trump judge.

In regards to the military purges, like aspiring dictators and autocrats throughout history, Trump is consolidating control of the security services – military, intelligence, law enforcement, etc.

So…young people are NOT going to save us after all.
