Gutless Wonders, And NOT Profiles In Courage: Republican Senators Who Allow Themselves To Be Controlled!

A very disturbing development is the reality that several Republican Senators, who have expressed concern and doubts about various Donald Trump Cabinet Appointments and other nominees who require Senate approval, have shown they are NOT “Profiles in Courage”, but instead “Gutless Wonders”!

The threat of Elon Musk promoting opponents in upcoming Senate primaries has led to these Senators bowing to pressure, and making themselves look unprincipled, and without any morals, ethics, or scruples.

The need for these Senators, all of whom have great financial assets and earlier careers where they did well financially, to cave in to pressure is astounding.

Even if they lost their seats in the Senate, or chose not to run for reelection, they would not be in any kind of financial straits that would pressure them to be cowards, but they are precisely that!

I am referring to those Senators I had written about that might be barriers to Trump’s nominees, including:

Joni Ernst of Iowa
Thom Tillis of North Carolina
Bill Cassidy of Louisiana
Susan Collins of Maine
James Lankford of Oklahoma
John Curtis of Utah

Additionally, a newer Republican Senator, Todd Young of Indiana, after having doubts about Tulsi Gabbard, bent to the pressure from Vice President JD Vance to back her for Director Of National Intelligence!

With upcoming confirmation votes next week, it looks quite hopeless that any nominee will be stopped by four Republican votes against such nominee.

Subject to change, it seems as if only Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Mitch McConnell of Kentucky might vote NO, beyond Pete Hegseth, and who can be sure that even those two Senators will be consistent.

This is all very exasperating and disillusioning, as we are on the road to the worst ever Presidential Cabinet of advisers in American History, people in many cases outrageously horrible to be in their positions and guaranteed to conduct themselves in illegal, unethical, and immoral ways!

Russell Vought, The Destroyer Of The Federal Government Work Force And Agencies!

The confirmation of Russell Vought as the head of the Office of Management and Budget in the Trump Administration is a danger sign to the issue of federal civil service employees and federal oversight on a host of issues and policies.

This man is a “wrecking crew”, considered by Democrats as the most dangerous of all Trump nominees, as he is a prime author of Project 2025, which is a right wing declaration of war on federal regulations in so many areas, including as examples, the environment, consumer protection, civil rights, labor protections, and separation of powers. He also is an advocate of Christian Nationalism.

Vought believes the Presidency should be more centralized and not be accountable to Congress and the courts, so he is promoting anarchy, chaos, and endorsement of what would be authoritarian Fascism, if it is not stopped by those who believe in the survival of American democracy and the rule of law!

Donald Trump and Elon Musk have declared war on the federal government and its multitude of agencies, a totally destructive and dangerous move that will undermine economic, social, and political stability, and threaten American national security.

America and the world is in a season of pure insanity, with lunatic, out of control President Donald Trump, setting out to dismantle many federal government agencies with the assistance of billionaire Elon Musk, who holds no government position and is a danger to the nation and the world, alongside the 47th President!

But also, Donald Trump, supposedly a President who was “isolationist” and wanted America to withdraw from world commitments, is on a rampage to have the United States take over the Gaza Strip, and remove all Palestinians permanently from their land!

This, if it occurred, would be truly “ethnic cleansing”, similarly to what America did to its native Americans over the past four centuries!

THere is ZERO support in the Middle East to relocate, forcibly, 2 million Palestinians, and imagine if one was to say that the Jewish population of Israel should leave their land under force of a foreign nation that has no business getting involved in any threatened, and forced, relocation of population?

And Trump is a threat not only on the Gaza Strip, but also to the Panama Canal treaty signed and ratified by the US Senate a quarter century ago under President Jimmy Carter, a rightful action to undo three quarters of a century of exploitation by the United States from the time of Theodore Roosevelt onward.

And Trump also is threatening Denmark over its territory of Greenland, all over wanting access to the mineral resources of that barren island of only about 56,000 people, endangering US relations with our European allies in NATO.

And putting tariffs on Canada, and then having a 30 day delay, is inflaming anti American sentiments in Canada, among all political views in that nation, and the insult of Trump suggesting that Canada become the 51st state, and calling Prime Minister Justin Trudeau “Governor”!

Donald Trump is out of control, acting maniacally, and his Republican Party is ceding all rights of Congress to promote checks and balances, as required under the US Constitution!

America is in a constitutional crisis and an American national security crisis, and the only winners are our adversaries in Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, and foreign terrorists!

Fighting, Outspoken Democrats Who Are Resisting Trump Coup And Elon Musk!

The Democratic Party in Congress is starting to react, finally, to the Trump Coup, and Elon Musk’s involvement in attempting to destroy federal agencies and civil servants.

Among those being very loud and defiant are:

These and other Democrats are showing up at various federal agencies, including today the Department of Education, which Donald Trump is, crazily, trying to destroy by executive order, which will not stand up!

Additionally, a large number of Democrats spoke vehemently at the Treasury Department, furious that Elon Musk and his hoodlums have gained access to federal records of tens of millions of American taxpayers!

Trump “Purge” Of FBI And Other Intelligence Agencies Will Make America Less Safe And In Much Greater Danger Long Term!

The “purge” going on in the FBI and other intelligence agencies, at th order of Donald Trump, is a danger sign of the authoritarian dictatorship that is being created, more so on a daily basis!

Trump only wants sycophants to work in these agencies, and that creates a massive threat to American democracy and American national security.

It will embolden domestic and foreign terrorist groups, and only helps our true adversaries, including Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran.

The nation and its citizens will be under constant threat of the loss of our basic civil liberties, as exist in the Bill of Rights and other constitutional amendments and Supreme Court decisions over the milleniums.

The fact that the Republican Party majority in Congress, and the Supreme Court majority, have contributed to this threat to all Americans, and are remaining silent as the basic structures of our government are being dismantled, is a fire bell in the night.

We are creating hostile neighbors on our borders by our economic warfare on Canada and Mexico, a very dangerous situation that will cause a major economic collapse over the coming months.

It is clear that Donald Trump is setting out to destroy America, by promoting anarchy and chaos, and is a threat to the survival of our Constitution, just as we arrive in 2026 with the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence!

Trump Tariffs On Canada And Mexico Will Backfire!

Donald Trump is committing economic suicide by imposing 25 percent tariffs on our two neighbors, Canada and Mexico.

It is guaranteed to backfire, and cause a major inflationary spiral, and shortages of all kinds of good, with corporations passing on the cost increases to American consumers.

It is tragic that America is geting involved in a trade war with our neighbor to the North, who has been the best possible ally in peace and wartime, with our border being stable for two centuries.

It is also tragic that we have a President ready to take military action against Mexico or other nations in Latin America, to impose his will not only on trade, but also his desire to retake control of the Panama Canal, breaking the international treaty under President Jimmy Carter that was ratified by a bipartisan group of Senators in 1978.

We are in a major constitutional crisis, as Donald Trump is a “clear and present danger” to international cooperation and peaceful diplomacy.

When will Congress reasert itself, and stop the mad dash of Donald Trump to create international chaos with democratic nations, while cozying up to authoritarian leaders in nations that wish America harm?

Mass Firings And Resignations Of Federal Civil Servants Will Have A Deleterious Effect On Government In Both Domestic And Foreign Policy!

The mass firings and resignations of federal civil service workers in a multitude of government agencies is an “alarm bell in the night”!

It undermines the ability of the federal government to deal with the multitude of domestic and national security issues that it needs to address on a daily basis.

The fact that Donald Trump and his administration thinks winnowing down the number of federal employees is acceptable, is a danger sign for future crises that are bound to arise over time.

With a nation of nearly 340 million people and growing, there is a need for more and effective government employees in all sectors, in order to preserve, protect and defend the United States internally and in relations with all other nations, including allies and adversaries!
