Democrat Tim Ryan Deserves To Be Elected As Ohio Senator

Ohio has an opportunity to elect a Congressman who has made a distinguished record in the House of Representatives for the past 20 years to be its new US Senator.

Tim Ryan is clearly a person of distinction and principle, who would join Democrat Sherrod Brown in the Senate, and replace Republican Senator Rob Portman, one of the small number of Republican leaders who performed in a reputable fashion in his years in the upper body of Congress.

Ohio deserves to have two principled Democrats who care about the state and the nation, not about pleasing Fascist demagogue Donald Trump, as Republican Senate nominee J D Vance does (after having denounced Trump in 2016). Vance also is an “Election Denier”, regarding the Presidential Election of 2020, so cannot be trusted with power in the Senate!

Republicans Plot To Use Impeachment Weapon Against Biden Presidency!

With the Midterm Elections of 2022 around the corner, it is becoming clear that the Republicans, if they win control of the House of Representatives, will go on the warpath against the Biden Presidency.

Kevin McCarthy will be, sadly, beholden to Donald Trump and the MAGA crazies, including Jim Jordan, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, Matt Gaetz, and a whole group of others in the “Freedom Caucus”.

So we can expect impeachment moves against Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Attorney General Merrick Garland, and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas.

Impeachment will be used, because it was used twice against Donald Trump, but the difference is that Trump was involved in impeachable acts, and in the case of Joe Biden and company, the Republicans will have to conjure up ridiculous charges!

So the Republicans will create chaos and anarchy and disarray, and will undermine American economic policies, and foreign policy, including wishing to abandon Ukraine and favor Vladimir Putin!

Face the facts: the Republican Paty has become a Fascist authoritarian group, promoting white supremacy, racism, nativism, and misogyny, and cozying up to Vladimir Putin!

The Republican party is no longer a party of distinction, and decent Republicans will try to organize a new Conservative Party to replace the disgrace that the Republican Party has become!

12 Days To Go, and A Nail Biting Election Coming Up!

This author and blogger cannot recall the tension and emotions that are being felt around the upcoming Midterm Elections of 2022 ever being quite as intense in past cycles.

It could be a poor memory, or seeing the past with rose colored glasses!

But literally, EVERY Senate race, EVERY House race, and EVERY Gubernatorial race is so significant for the future of American democracy, which is on the verge of being lost to the MAGA Republicans and Donald Trump!

With only about six vote margin in the House of Representatives, and an evenly split US Senate for only the 4th time in American history, and with Governors having tremendous power and influence on an issue such as abortion rights, every citizen needs to vote!

Last night’s debate in Pennsylvania leaves one worried about the performance of John Fetterman, as it could be the Senate election that decides Senate control in the 118th Congress. But also, the Georgia race of Raphael Warnock; the Ohio race of Tim Ryan; the Wisconsin race of Mandela Barnes; the North Carolina race of Cheri Beasley; the Florida race of Val Demings; the New Hampshire race of Maggie Hassan; the Nevada race of Catherine Cortez Masto; the Arizona race of Mark Kelly; and the Iowa race of Michael Franken, are all crucial.

And Governorship races, particularly in Michigan with Gretchen Whitmer; in Arizona with Katie Hobbs; in Florida with Charlie Crist; in Texas with Beto O’Rourke, are all significant for the future!

With Two Weeks To Go, Voter Enthusiasm And Participation Is Highest For Midterm Election!

With early voting having begun, already there are strong indications of voter enthusiasm and commitment, so the participation in voting in midterm elections is on the road to an all time high level.

The question that remains unanswered is whether the enthusiasm is centered about the danger to American democracy presented by MAGA Republicans and Donald Trump, and the issue of the Dobbs V Jackson women’s Health Organization Supreme Court case on destruction of abortion rights as was declared in Roe V Wade a half century ago.

The polls are so conflicting, and often have been incorrect, after the fact, so there is a waiting game as to how the American people at large are expressing their views.

Hopefully, we will not discover that Donald Trump and his minions have managed to “pull the wool over one’s eyes”, and have Trumpites showing greater strength than the approximate one third of the population believed to be vehement Trump supporters!

January 6 House Committee Subpoena To Trump, Just As We Learn He Had China And Iran Security Documents At Mar A Lago!

The January 6 House Committee has issued a subpoena to Donald Trump, calling for documents by November 4 and testimony around November 14, a dramatic development!

And as this is revealed, we learn that Donald Trump had China and Iran National Security documents at Mar A Lago, a shocking revelation!

If anyone else had participated in such pilfering of national security documents, such person would have been arrested and incarcerated before trial!

It is time, once the Midterm Elections of 2022 are over, for Attorney General Merrick Garland to move forward on indictment on a number of charges!

Extremely Dangerous “Election Deniers” In Midterm Gubernatorial Elections

The Republican Party has more than half of its candidates for public office in Congress and the Governorships in November 2022 professing to be “Election Deniers”.

It is horrifying to imagine that many of these right wing extremists are likely to be elected.

But three candidates for governorships are particularly extreme in their defiance.

Doug Mastriano in Pennsylvania

Kari Lake in Arizona

Tudor Dixon in Michigan

Matriano’s opponent is state Attorney General Josh Shapiro.

Lake’s opponent is state Secretary of State Katie Hobbs.

Dixon’s opponent is Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

If all three of these extremists were elected, or even two of them, it would make it highly likely that the Presidential Election of 2024 would become a constitutional crisis, as they would work to refuse the possibility of the Democratic Presidential nominee to win the state’s electoral votes, in these three states, which are all crucial in future elections, as they have been in past elections.

Fascinating Senate Race In Utah: Evan McMullin Running As Independent Against Mike Lee, And Mitt Romney Remaining Neutral!

One of the most interesting and fascinating Senate races in 2022 is in heavily Mormon Utah, where Republican Senator Mike Lee, who has emerged as a MAGA Republican, despite being very critical of Donald Trump six years ago, faces a challenge NOT from a Democrat, but from an Independent Republican who ran for President in 2016 in protest against Donald Trump’s candidacy.

McMullin won 21.5 percent of the vote in 2016 in Utah, and half of one percent of the total national vote, close to 750,000 votes. And in 2020, he endorsed Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden. McMullin had been a CIA agent, and believed Trump was a danger to national security.

When McMullin decided to run against Mike Lee, the Democratic Party in Utah agreed to stay out of the race, and right now, the polls indicate a very close race, with Lee only ahead by 4 percent, and more than ten percent of the voters still undecided.

McMullin, a strong conservative with principle, and never a Trump loyalist, has pledged he will not join the caucus of either the Republicans or Democrats if he wins the seat.

And the controversy over this race is magnified by Utah Senator Mitt Romney, the 2012 Republican Presidential nominee, refusing to take a stand and endorse his Senate colleague, Mike Lee. This is causing an uproar, but remember Romney voted to convict Trump in both impeachment trials, and has been condemned by Donald Trump.

This race of Lee vs McMullin will certainly be one of the most intriguing Senate races in November!

Reality: Donald Trump Wanted To Murder Mike Pence And Nancy Pelosi, Next In Line Of Succession!

It is time to stop excusing or dismissing the crimes of Donald Trump, most specifically on January 6, 2021!

Reality is that Donald Trump was ready to do ANYTHING to stop the official Electoral vote count that showed that Joe Biden had defeated Donald Trump!

So it is clear, without any shadow of a doubt, that Donald Trump wanted to murder Vice President Mike Pence and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, the two in line of Presidential succession!

Trump wanted to go to the Capitol, but the Secret Service prevented it, but it is clear that Trump had no scruples, ethics, morals, or conscience on that day, and really, throughout his Presdency, culminating in the plot to overthrow the US government, and install himself as a Fascist dictator!

The answer is to arrest and imprison Donald Trump, as anyone else who was engaged in such dastardly deeds would face that prosecution.

So it is up to Attorney General Merrick Garland to take that action, shortly after the Midterm Elections of 2022 have passed!

There is no alternative, even if Trump provokes violence and bloodshed, and in fact, if that ensues, then no possibility of avoiding pretrial detention, as a threat to the American Republic!

Donald Trump IS The Most Important Issue In Midterm Elections!

After the January 6 House Committee hearings yesterday, and the Supreme Court unanimously rejecting Donald Trump’s attempt to manipulate the issue of the national security documents at his Mar A Lago estate, it has become perfectly clear!

The issue of the Midterm Elections next month is the issue of what will happen to American democracy, as Donald Trump is a clear and present danger to the future of the American republic!

There are many other issues, including the “Election Deniers” crisis, abortion rights, the economy, gun violence, the climate crisis, the Ukraine invasion by the Russian Federation, and the future of the Joe Biden Presidency, among others.

But Donald Trump MUST be prosecuted, and prevented from being able to run for President again in 2024, as a first step above all else!

The Electoral Count Act needs to be revised so that what happened on January 6, 2021 cannot happen again, and since Trump promoted sedition and treason, he must be barred from the ability to run for public office, under the 14th Amendment, Section 3!

January 6 House Committee Hearing Today Conclusive Evidence Of Trump Guilt

The January 6 House Committee hearing today has provided yet more conclusive evidence of Donald Trump’s guilt in inciting the US Capitol Insurrection.

Particularly impressive was Vice Chair of the committee, Wyoming Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney, and Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, along with Maryland Democratic Congressman Jamie Raskin and California Democratic Congressman Adam Schiff.

While there is danger of violence with Trump talking about “civil war”, the Department of Justice has no choice but to bring charges against Donald Trump, with the timing being after the Midterm Elections of 2022, and before the new 118th Congress begins.

No one is above the law, and that principle is essential, as a warning to future Presidents, that justice is even handed, and no one has an advantage in court because of fame or notoriety!

So a subpoena is being issued to Donald Trump by the committee to come and testify under oath, and we shall see what transpires!
