Republican 118th House Of Representatives A Total Disaster!

The 118th Congress (2023-2025) has been a total disaster, with the House of Representatives controlled by the extremist right wing Freedom Caucus, which deposed Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House, and now is moving toward deposing Mike Johnson, because of his cooperation with Democrats to adopt a budget bill and avoid default. Looney Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia has taken the first steps to call for possible removal of Johnson from the Speakership.

This chaos has led some Republicans to quit the House of Representatives early including Ken Buck of Colorado and Mike Gallagher of Wisconsin.

So now, once Gallagher leaves in April, the split will be 217-213 in the House, meaning the Republicans only have a ONE vote margin!

So any further craziness, and the Democrats will gain control of the House of Representatives, an unbelievable situation!

Speaker Of The House Kevin McCarthy Clearly A Total Disgrace!

Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy has no guts, principles, or courage! 🙁

He was elected only after many multiple ballots, and is trapped by the extreme right wing of his House majority, most specifically the “Freedom Caucus”, including Matt Gaetz of Florida, Scott Perry of Pennsylvania, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Chip Roy of Texas and others.

McCarthy is about to allow the government to be shut down at the end of the month, which will harm the American economy!

He also insulted Ukranaian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, by not allowing him to speak before a joint session of Congress, forcing the speech to be in the old Senate chamber in the US Capitol, where a majority of Senate Republicans continue to support aid to Ukraine in its war with Russia.

The House Republicans and MAGA Republicans supporters of Donald Trump, along with the disgraced former President, do not wish to aid Ukraine, and show evidence of being pro Russian, which would astound Republicans of the past, including Joseph McCarthy (no relationship), Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and a host of others.

Kevin McCarthy’s catering to right wing demagogues and Russian supporters will condemn him in history as the worst Speaker in modern times, and that is not an easy assertion, as past Republican Speakers included the disgraced Dennis Hastert and the despicable demagogue Newt Gingrich!

To think that Kevin McCarthy is two heartbeats away from the Presidency is a danger sign, and Democrats MUST retake the House of Representatives in 2024 to restore the dignity of the House, that was so well represented by former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi!

The Republican Party is fast disintegrating!

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, after being impeached overwhelmingly by the Texas dominated Republican House of Representatives, is found not guilty on all counts by the Texas dominated Republican Senate.

Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert acted inappropriately in public with her date at a concert.

The Republican Presidential contenders move further to the extreme right in appeals to evangelical voters in Iowa, and try to outdo each other in their craziness and authoritarian tendencies.

Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy allowed himself to be manipulated by his Freedom Caucus extremist members to start an impeachment inquiry against Joe Biden, knowing there is no evidence to do so, and just using the personal problems of Hunter Biden to attack the entire Biden family.

Donald Trump gave an interview to Kristen Welker of NBC Meet the Press, demonstrating ever further his mental deterioration and constant lying and deceptions.

Mitt Romney, when announcing his retirement at the end of 2024, told us that Mitch McConnell did not respond when Romney warned him of danger on January 6, 2021, four days ahead of that fateful date. Romney also condemned most Republicans who he said ridicule Donald Trump in private, but support him in public, and particularly mentioned Senators Josh Hawley, Ted Cruz, and J D Vance. Their desire to have power overcomes the concept of commitment to basic principles.

In the past, we saw political parties in America, including the Federalist Party after 1816; the Democratic Republican Party in the 1820s; and the Whig Party in 1854, all dissolve!

It is time for the Republican Party name to be replaced by a new party name, and a rejection of much of what the present day right wing Fascist oriented party represents, in order to have a safe future of a nation committed to the Constitution and rule of law!

Impeachment Move Against Joe Biden Has No Basis, Just Political Posturing!

The impeachment move of the Republican House of Representatives and Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy toward President Joe Biden has no basis, and is just political posturing.

There is no “there, there”, and McCarthy knows it, but he is captive to his extreme right wing Freedom Caucus members who may yet dump him as Speaker in a roll call vote!

This is just revenge for Donald Trump having been impeached twice by the Democratic controlled House of Representatives in 2019 and 2021.

The Republican Party in the House has only a 5 seat edge, and it seems highly likely that the Democrats will win back control in 2024, and by much more than a few seats!

Debt Limit Bill Passes House Of Representatives 314-117!

The US House of Representatives has passed the Debt Limit legislation to avoid default, by a vote of 314-117, with one third of the Republican majority voting against, and about one fourth of the Democratic minority voting against.

149 Republicans and 165 Democrats voted for the legislation, and 71 Republicans and 46 Democrats voted against the legislation.

So fundamentally, the centrists in both parties did what had to be done, while many members of the Republican House Freedom Caucus and of the Democratic House Progressive Caucus registered their opposition to the legislation.

Overall, it is a good piece of legislation, and saves the nation from dealing with this matter until after the next Presidential and Congressional elections in 2024.

Now the legislation goes to the Senate, where it could be held up by reckless members of the Republican Party, who love to gain attention by being outrageous!

Ron DeSantis Strikes Out On Day One, And All Downhill From Now On For Good Reasons!

Ron DeSantis “struck out” on Day One, having problems on Twitter Audio with Elon Musk, and it will be all downhill from now on.

Instead of speaking before an audience of supporters, DeSantis is isolating himself, and talking only to right wing cable and radio shows.

And he is telling us he will be more hardline than Donald Trump was on immigration! And he will consider giving pardons to Insurrectionists from January 6, and even to Trump, if he is convicted!

So DeSantis is against the rule of law, and supporting the sedition and treason of the Insurrectionists, which should, automatically, kill his candidacy!

DeSantis is coming along more than ever as an extreme right wing Fascist, who wants to take away the freedom of women, gays and transgender people, and immigrants!

And he is ignoring evidence of antisemitism in Florida, and warring on Disney, and banning books, and dictating curriculum in public schools and universities, and promoting racism and white supremacy!

Remember he was one of the founders of the Freedom Caucus in the House of Representatives, and a TEA PARTY activist under Barack Obama’s Presidency!

And he wanted to cut Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid while in Congress, and has used his power to fix legislative and congressional districts to promote gerrymandering, which took away representation from African American in the state of Florida!

He has a wife who is very ambitious and dominating, and he has come across as very phony in his public persona, laughing hysterically that looks preposterous, and lacking any empathy, sincerity, compassion, or common decency!

He is the direct opposite of the personality and character of President Joe Biden, and for anyone to support him as the “better” alternative, would need his or her head examined!

Kevin McCarthy Unable To Criticize Trump If He Is To Become House Speaker, So Morally Compromised!

With five weeks to go until the new 118th Congress meets on January 3, 2023, Kevin McCarthy is “between a rock and a hard place!”

He cannot afford to alienate the House Freedom Caucus, the most extremist right wing Republicans in the House of Representatives.

So therefore, as all along for the past two years, McCarthy cannot criticize Donald Trump for his having white supremacist and Holocaust Denier Nick Fuentes and another anti semite, Kanye West, at dinner at Mar a Lago!

McCarthy has flirted with Donald Trump since January 6, 2021, and by all rights, should not be Speaker of the House, which should go instead to an honest conservative Republican who has condemned Donald Trump.

Liz Cheney or Justin Amash would be the more appropriate choice, but the Republican Party has been flirting with extreme right wing Fascism, and seems ready to self destruct!

Present Estimate of 220-215 Republican Control Of House Of Representatives!

As I write this entry, the estimate is that the Republican Party may have control of the US House of Representatives by the razor thin margin of 220-215, a three seat edge!

And if that occurs, or even a few more Republican seats are added, the reason it will have happened is the loss of four New York State congressional districts due to court intervention preventing a Democratic reapportionment set up, and the power play by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who promoted a more extreme plan for congressional district reapportionment, creating a four seat gain in the Sunshine State!

It is clear that IF the Republicans do gain control, by whatever small margin of seats, that chaos and anarchy will rule, and nothing productive will be done in the next two years!

Kevin McCarthy also is on a scenario where if he is Speaker of the House, with the power of the House Republican Freedom Caucus, he might wish he was NOT Speaker of the House!

Republicans Plot To Use Impeachment Weapon Against Biden Presidency!

With the Midterm Elections of 2022 around the corner, it is becoming clear that the Republicans, if they win control of the House of Representatives, will go on the warpath against the Biden Presidency.

Kevin McCarthy will be, sadly, beholden to Donald Trump and the MAGA crazies, including Jim Jordan, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, Matt Gaetz, and a whole group of others in the “Freedom Caucus”.

So we can expect impeachment moves against Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Attorney General Merrick Garland, and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas.

Impeachment will be used, because it was used twice against Donald Trump, but the difference is that Trump was involved in impeachable acts, and in the case of Joe Biden and company, the Republicans will have to conjure up ridiculous charges!

So the Republicans will create chaos and anarchy and disarray, and will undermine American economic policies, and foreign policy, including wishing to abandon Ukraine and favor Vladimir Putin!

Face the facts: the Republican Paty has become a Fascist authoritarian group, promoting white supremacy, racism, nativism, and misogyny, and cozying up to Vladimir Putin!

The Republican party is no longer a party of distinction, and decent Republicans will try to organize a new Conservative Party to replace the disgrace that the Republican Party has become!

Jim Jordan of Ohio; Paul Gosar of Arizona, Louie Gohmert of Texas, Mo Brooks of Alabama, Scott Perry of Pennsylvania, Andy Biggs of Arizona! All Seditionist Traitors!

These members of the House Freedom Caucus together conspired to stage a coup and deny Joe Biden the Electoral College victory he clearly and honestly won!

They had contact with Donald Trump and his conspirators who were trying to force Vice President Mike Pence to throw out legitimate votes in several states, and flip the Electoral College vote count on January 6 to Trump!

These six culprits spread conspiracy theories in the two months before January 6, and poisoned the truth, causing massive numbers of Trump supporters to be riled up and decide to attack the US Capitol, with Donald Trump and many around him, besides these six House members, promoting an overthrow of constitutional government and undermining American democracy!

White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, himself a former member of the House Freedom Caucus, was intimately involved in emails, phone calls, and personal meetings with these conspirators and others!

The “Stop the Steal” movement was unpatriotic, illegal, unethical, and immoral, and the “Big Lie” continues eleven months later!

And we cannot forget that 139 House Republicans and 8 Republican Senators refused to accept the legal process and accurate Electoral College result, and all of these 147 Republicans should face expulsion and prosecution for their undermining of the rule of law!
