San Francisco Earthquake

COVID 19 Pandemic Daily Death Toll Surpasses San Francisco Earthquake, September 11, Pearl Harbor

The COVID 19 Pandemic daily death toll has passed 3,000, more than any other single day event in American history, except for major military battles, Antietam on September 17, 1862 and Gettysburg on July 1, 2, and 3, 1863, both during the Civil War.

It has surpassed the San Francisco Earthquake of April 18, 1906; the terrorist attacks on New York City and Washington, DC on September 11, 2001; and the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on December 7, 1941.

And since the latter two disasters were man made, not natural, America has surpassed all tragedies for one day, both natural, and perpetrated by evil.

And Donald Trump has totally ignored the matter, still trying, illegally and unethically, to overturn the election results a full month after an election in which Joe Biden won a clear cut victory in the Electoral College, and a massive 7 million vote popular vote landslide!

The Month Of April: Wars, Deaths, And Now Pandemic!

Here we are in the month of April, which historically, has been a very tragic month in so many ways!

April was the month that Civil War began and ended, in 1861 and 1865.

And now, the CoronaVirus Pandemic, the worst since the Spanish Flu of 1918, will lead to the death of an horrific number of people in America and around the world.

Estimates are that when the Pandemic is overcome in the future, at least a low figure of 100,00 to 240,000 American will have died. But the high figure is 2 to 2.5 million Americans, more than all our wars in American history!

105th Anniversary Of San Francisco Earthquake: A Reminder Of Nuclear And Natural Disaster Likely In The Future!

On this 105th Anniversary of the infamous San Francisco Earthquake, which destroyed much of that city, and is still one of the top few greatest natural disasters in American history, if not the worst, we have a reminder of the doom and gloom predicted in the next 30 years by most scientists!

With a nuclear power plant right on the San Andreas Fault between San Francisco and Los Angeles, and another nuclear power plant between Los Angeles and San Diego, in a state with 37 million people, there is the looming threat of much more than a disastrous earthquake, but also of a much worse tragedy of nuclear radiation on the scale of what has happened last month in Japan and in Chernobyl in the old Soviet Union 25 years ago!

There has long been the prediction of a massive earthquake in California, and despite much planning and building of structures that are supposed to survive such a natural disaster, it is still worrisome that no one can possibly prepare adequately for a natural event such as an earthquake, and be sure that there would not be a worse disaster with a tsunami and or nuclear breakdown!

It seems more a question of when, not if, as to such a natural tragedy and possible nuclear disaster, and the cost of such an event both regarding loss of life and cost is impossible to measure, or to plan for. Disaster preparedness is far from an exact science, and no one seems willing to deal with the financial cost that cannot be forseen until it occurs!
