Productive Year On History News Network Concludes With 50th Article, All Posted On Right Side Of Blog

The year 2016 has been an amazing year for this author and blogger, in a way one could not imagine when the year began.

I contacted Rick Shenkman of HistoryNewsNetwork.org in January about contributing to his website which gains an average of 800,000 hits per month, and publishes multiple articles on all kinds of historical and current events topics three times per week.

He agreed, and I have been fortunate enough to publish the grand total of 50 articles this year, mostly on the Presidential Election of 2016, but also some on other historical topics, and also some articles related to my Assassinations book, which came out in August 2015, and will be issued in paperback in March 2017.

The most recent article, on reassessing Jimmy Carter after a record 13,000 plus days out of the Presidency, was published on Christmas Day, and is now posted on the right side of this blog with the other articles for easy reading.

I would not expect that I will be as productive in the future, as 2016 was an unusual year, but I plan to continue to contribute articles in this coming year of 2017 and future years, as events require it, and they will be posted on the blog.

All my articles on HNN, plus two reproduced on TIME Magazine’s website, and two TheHill.com articles in late 2015 on my book, are now easily found.

Meanwhile, I continue to write regularly on this blog, and the total is now over 5,450 entries since its inception in August 2008, and I hope to continue to do this for many more years, and wish to thank those readers who have contributed their ideas and thoughts in response to my entries.

If anything, the coming of the Trump Presidency requires more vigilance and watchfulness, so we can promote the progressive cause long term. It will not be an easy struggle, but is required to fight the good fight for one’s principles.

So Happy New Year everyone, and to the health and prosperity of America, and of progressive reform ideas surviving in a difficult era!

8th Anniversary Of “The Progressive Professor”, And 5,300 Entries And Counting!

Today is the 8th Anniversary of this blog, The Progressive Professor!

It began in 2008 at the time of the national conventions selecting Barack Obama and John McCain as the Presidential nominees.

It has covered the controversies, issues, and personalities of the years of Barack Obama as President.

It has been enriched by the contributions in comments of many people who have added insight on many of the issues discussed, and I wish to thank all of them who have been part of the past eight years.

It has also witnessed a few trolls who have joined in at times, wishing to muddy up the waters, so to speak, but failing at that goal.

On this 8th anniversary, we have just reached the grand total of 5,300 entries, an amazing amount for a blog to have accomplished over just eight years.

I have been fortunate enough, in the interim, to retire full time from teaching, but keep a connection with part time teaching. But I have also been able to lecture 40-50 times a year locally to adults and senior citizens in South Florida.

I have also published my book on Presidential Assassinations and Threats, and have been on C Span, NPR, and many other radio interviews.

And I have been appreciative of the opportunity to write articles for TheHill.com and HNN.us (History News Network) on my book and on public affairs (with 28 essays on HNN and counting).

All of my activities are listed on the right side of the blog, and anyone can watch, listen, or read the links at your leisure.

And now my Assassinations book will be coming out in paperback in March 2017.

I hope to continue this blog for many more years, and look forward to it with great expectations, as we elect a new President and move into the future!

Thanks again to everyone, especially my readers who do not comment, but read me regularly, as it is much appreciated!

Major Features On “Progressive Professor” Blog

Many of my readers may not realize, or be paying attention to, the fact that besides commentary on political and historical events, the blog also includes multiple radio interviews, as well as op-eds, relating to my recent book, ASSASSINATIONS, THREATS, AND THE AMERICAN  PRESIDENCY: FROM ANDREW JACKSON TO BARACK OBAMA (Rowman Littlefield Publishers, August 2015).

There are, as of now, 13  interviews on the right side of the blog, which a reader can click on to listen to many of my radio interviews in the past three months.  Additionally, there are 2 op-eds that I have published on the website THEHILL.COM in the past month .  Soon, there will be two C Span videos, one with the author interviewed for an hour by Brian Lamb to be aired on C Span on Sunday, November 29 at 8 pm, 11 pm, and 6 am on Monday, November 30 ; and a lecture and book signing on my book at Florida Atlantic University in Jupiter, Florida, lasting 90 minutes, to be taped on December 8, 2015, and being shown on C Span sometime in January.

There are also, on the right side of the blog, past radio interviews on other current events topics; several newspaper interviews in past years and one from a month ago; and three videos of 90 minute lectures I did at Florida Atlantic University on Harry Truman, John F. Kennedy, and Lyndon B. Johnson in recent times.

There is also a new feature, CONTACT ME, which allows for anyone who is interested in requesting my participation in future lectures, interviews, or scholarly engagements to contact me, and is located on the top of the blog on the right.

Interviews On “Assassinations, Threats, And The American Presidency: From Andrew Jackson To Barack Obama” Mounting On Blog!

This blogger and author is in the midst of doing interviews, having done 25 by this date, and 12 of them are now available on the right side of this blog, under “Interviews” for those who wish to listen.

Additionally, an Op-Ed on the dangers and threats to the President and Presidential candidates, published on the website thehill.com this past Thursday, one of the leading news sites for politics and government, is available under the heading of Op-Eds.

As more interviews and other activities regarding the book occur, readers will see them added, and I welcome my readers to listen and watch, and feel free to comment on the topic of the book, and the book itself!

And I encourage my readers to consider purchase of my book, which is a good read on a very important topic!
